The pop star went on Instagram Live to preview snippets of three songs from the album, including I'm His He's Mine featuring Doechii, which sampled Crystal Waters’ 1991 song Gypsy Woman (She’s Homeless).

The snippet received mixed reviews from pop fans due to Katy Perry sampling Crystal Waters’ song. One person tweeted:

Katy Perry described 143 as a "dance album" she always wanted to make

During her Instagram Live on July 10, Katy Perry called her upcoming album a dance album that she had always wanted to make.

“I’ve been talking about [doing] two albums the past eight years and that’s a dance album and an acoustic album. I haven’t yet made the acoustic album. Well, we never stop writing. But I finally made the dance album, the album I always wanted to make."

She also said that the vibes for 143 were summery and filled with love and light, adding that the songs were meant to be dance songs with high BMP.

“This record is super high energy, it’s super summer, it’s very high BPM. We just had a family dance party to one of the songs, and it’s just full of so much joy, so much love, so much light.”

Katy Perry announced this new era on June 18 when she revealed that she would be releasing a new single called Woman's World from the upcoming album on July 11, along with a music video.

The singer premiered the album cover art on her Instagram page on July 10, which showed her seemingly floating in a sheer outfit. The album, slated for release on September 20, will be Perry's first music since her 2020 album Smile.

On her Instagram Live, she also premiered two more songs, Nirvana and Gimme Gimme, featuring 21 Savage. The album's full tracklist is yet to be revealed. She has not yet announced a tour to promote her album. However, she mentioned on social media that she has her schedule cleared for a tour shortly.
