Keyshia Ka’oir defended her husband, Gucci Mane, as the internet users continue to blame him for the death of Enchanting. On June 11, 2024, Ka’oir took to the comments section of Mane's post dedicated to the 26-year-old rapper and responded to the naysayers by stating:
"Leave my husband alone! He signs these artist to help them & give them a better life! I wish it wasn’t like this ! Chant we love you baby girl ! RIH."
Keyshia's comment comes as news of Enchanting's passing made headlines. Guwop, who signed the rapper under his banner 1017, shared a Instagram post mouring the No Luv singer
However, the comment section of the Instagram post was flooded with alleged remarks about Gucci Mane's record label being "cursed," with many blaming the Atlanta rapper for the tragedies in the lives of those signed under his label.
"Gucci been killing everyone under is Label," a user wrote.
"ANOTHER SACRIFICE," another user mentioned.
"no way ya whole label either dead or in prison," a third user commented.
Enchanting signed with Gucci Mane's 1017 record label at the age of 22 in 2020.
On June 11, 2024 morning, news broke out that Enchanting, real name, Channing Nicole Larry, passed away at the age of 26 after being admitted to the ICU a day before. The circumstances surrounding her medical emergency were not confirmed.
At the time, Enchanting was not actually dead. Her sister, Kayy Jayy, uploaded a Facebook post about the rapper being placed on life support. This led to the confusion, sparking rumors of her death. Jayy later took to Facebook to put an end to the rumors and clarified that her sister was on life support and fighting for her life at the hospital.
Her death was not confirmed until late at night on June 11.
Enchanting signed with Gucci Mane's 1017 label at the age of 22 in 2020. Record producer J. White shared her IG profile with the Wake Up in the Sky rapper when the latter posted that he was looking for new artists to work with. The songstress dropped her first album under 1017, titled No Luv, in 2022, with Gucci Mane appearing in two tracks from the album. They parted ways in 2023.
Rumors of 1017 being "cursed" began in January 2023 after Memphis-based artist Mac Critter was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. At the time, Joe Budden, in his namesake podcast, speculated on the ill fate of those signed (or once signed) under Mane's banner. He explained that the rapper's scouting needs to be examined, as it was "no coincidence" that so many of his artists were troubled.
This includes Big Scarr, who died from an accidental prescription drug overdose in December 2022; Hotboy, who was arrested for robbery in January 2022, and Foogiano, who was sentenced to five years in prison after he melted his ankle monitor and was on the run over a gun possession charge, among others.
Gucci Mane has not released any further statements regarding the development.
