Kid Cudi and Travis Scott were working together on a collaborative project titled The Scotts in 2021, which was later canceled by Kid Cudi in 2022. Recently, an X user going by the moniker Ibrahim queried the singer again regarding the album on August 24, 2024. In response to the said query, the rapper reconfirmed that the album project has now been shelved, stating:

"That ship came and went my friend. Lets move on. So much more to see and hear."

More on the Kid Cudi and Travis Scott album project

Kid Cudi teamed up with Travis Scott and dropped a single The Scotts on April 24, 2020. The song was produced by Daytrip, Dot Da Genius, and Plain Pat as well as Mike Dean and Travis Scott. The track was a major success, topping the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart upon release.

In 2021, Kid Cudi stated that a full collaborative project with Travis Scott (titled same as their 2020 single) was in progress. In response to a query by a fan who went by the moniker Siete Cinco on X on September 21, 2021, the rapper wrote:

"It'll happen. Not sure when, but it will"

On December 21, 2022, the singer first confirmed that the album project The Scotts was officially canceled after a query by another fan (Stylo) on X:

"Naw I'm not doin' that. The moment has passed"

Before their work on The Scotts single and now-abandoned album project with the same title, the duo joined forces to create several projects. Their earliest collaboration was Through the Late Night and Way Back from Travis's second studio album Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight.

Their next collab was Baptized in Fire, which was released as part of Kid Cudi's sixth studio album Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin. The album was out on December 16, 2016 and was hugely successful upon release. Finally, Cudi also appeared in Travis Scott's song Stop Trying to Be God, which was part of his third studio album Astroworld.

Aside from Travis Scott, Kid Cudi has also worked with artists such as Pharell Williams, Kanye West, and Common as well as MGMT and Ratatat, among others.

The singer is currently working on a new studio album, which will be released sometime in the future. The singer laid out the vision for his career in an interview with Rolling Stone, published on September 24, 2022. He elaborated:

"Everything is possible. And I think people, they have an idea about me. They feel that they’ve seen it all, like music. And they know I’m a musician, and they give me the acting thing, but it’s like, okay, you can only be good at two things. But here’s the thing. I’m going to be good at five things.I’m going to be good at six things. I’m going to be good at seven things."

Kid Cudi went on to say:

"I am trying to tap into the full ability of my soul and make anything I ever dreamed of. So that’s where I see myself over the next 10 years and until I’m old and gray. I think I might slow down on the music and get more into designing and more into writing movies and TV shows, stuff like that."

The singer ended the interview on the note that he was looking forward to doing more in the TV and film industry, as he considered there to be a lot of space for more work in that sector.

Cudi released his tenth studio album, Insano (Nitro Mega), on February 23, 2024, through Wicked Awesome and Republic Records. The album is a different take on the singer's previous album, Insano, dropped on January 12, 2024.
