Liam Gallagher, a member of the Oasis band, recently took to X to respond to the growing rumors of an impending Oasis reunion and teased the possibility of a near future tour. Doing the same, he wrote on X on August 25,
"I never did like that word FORMER."
Liam again used X to certify that the concert might be already scheduled, writing,
"See you down the front you big fa*ny."
Liam and Noel Gallagher, the estranged siblings, are expected to put their disagreements aside and perform together on stage for a number of shows in London and Manchester next summer, possibly including a headline slot at the Glastonbury Festival.
The Manchester Evening News was able to get information that suggests that negotiations are underway with necessary parties and authorities to schedule many nights of performances at Manchester's Heaton Park in July. It's also said that dates in Scotland and a ten-night engagement at Wembley are in the works.
Liam Gallagher subtly fueled the rumour of the reunion of Oasis however, no one knows anything for sure
Singer Liam Gallagher seems to have hinted at a significant Oasis reunion. On his social media accounts, the former frontman has been giving fans less-than-subtle clues. He has told them he will see them "down the front" and encouraged them to "enjoy" each day as it comes.
A source stated to the Mail on Sunday, August 25,
"All the speculation about this reunion can get a bit tiresome. But there's a genuine feeling that next summer's Glastonbury will be too much of an attraction for Liam and Noel to turn down. They have been made aware of the headline slot that's open for them next summer. Now it's all down to them.”
Manchester News reported on August 25 that they had been informed that an announcement scheduled for the beginning of the week may inform everyone that the tickets would possibly go on sale within the next seven days.
Each ticket is expected to cost more than £100. Manchester City Council and the appropriate planning authorities would need to be notified, but the source further informed that they are aware that non-disclosure agreements have been signed.
On the other hand, the Times reported on August 25 that there might be a confirmed update on Tuesday, August 27.
Furthermore, when one X user tagged Liam Gallagher on the platform and asked,
“LIAM REUNION DATES WHEN?”
He replied,
“Next week.”
Now, it remains to be seen if this was fake news or if the gigs would really happen later this week.
On the other hand, as the 30th anniversary of the band's seminal debut album, Definitely Maybe, draws near, Oasis fans are getting increasingly excited, which feeds further rumors.
As per Manchester News, amidst the resurgence of talk about the reunion, Liam Gallagher's son Gene said earlier this month that he thought his father would be eager to see Oasis reunited.
In an interview with The Times on August 6, Gene discussed the likelihood of the Oasis reunion. He said,
“I mean, will they? I don’t know. I would love it but it’s so beyond my control. No, no. I get the feeling my dad wants it too. Let’s hope it happens.”
Furthermore, fans began to speculate about the brother's reunion when the band posted a mysterious video on their official X account earlier on May 20. However, the idea was quickly rejected as the setting in the video was where the band recorded their debut album, Definitely Maybe.
After the incredible success of the Definitely Maybe tour, which took place in June 2024, Liam Gallagher has hinted at the possibility of a tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the band's famous second album, (What's the Story) Morning Glory?
The tour is scheduled to take place next year. Liam Gallagher's on-stage reunion with Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs, another original Oasis member, during their last tour was noteworthy.
Nevertheless, nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
