Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan passed away on September 5, 2024 aged 34. Fulton County Medical Examiner confirmed his death to the Associated Press. So far, the cause of his demise remains undisclosed. In the wake of his death, a recent interview of Rich Homie Quan went viral where he mentioned wanting to mend his relationship with his former friend and collaborator, Young Thug.

In the video reshared on X account @ThuggerDaily on September 6, 2024, the interviewer asked RHQ:

“I heard you once say, 'Screaming Free Thugger,' right? Is there any chance that at some point in the future, either be unreleased music or whatnot, that we'll hear y'all on a song together again?”

In response, he said that he wasn’t sure but mentioned that there was indeed a “lot of unreleased” music that he and Young Thug had in store.

"We do have a lot of music that hasn't been released. But who knows what the future holds? First and foremost, it's ‘Free Thugger.' It's a touchy situation, so I try not to talk about it a lot. But I don't know what the future holds, man, you know what I'm saying? I'm willing to have a conversation, and it'll start from there,” the late rapper shared.

The interview clip soon garnered severe traction online, with fans sharing diverse reactions. For instance, X user @Shamp_COD commented under Young Thug’s fan page Thugger Daily’s post by writing how it was better when Rich Homie Quan and Thug weren’t involved in the alleged feud.

“Bro was still making good music too. Industry and all his ‘friends’ and ‘peers’ did him wrong. He was a huge part of ATL music and should have gotten his flowers long before this. Life was better when those 2 weren’t beefing,” the user wrote.

Many others joined the conversation and shared similar sentiments.

“It’s incredibly painful to hear that. Quan was clearly trying to make things right. His loss feels even more profound knowing how much he wanted to reconnect,” a fan wrote.
“He been on this for years, sad, he never had the chance fr,” one fan wrote.
“Quan wanting to mend things with Thug shows growth and the importance of reconciliation,” wrote another.

Others pointed out how Rich Homie Quan’s demise was a sign for everyone to reconcile with people as long as there’s time. Others stated that they had been waiting for the late rapper to collaborate once again with Thug.

“Damn. A sign to mend those relationships before it’s too late,” a person wrote.
“Makes me sad as h*ll knowing that they will never have that conversation. If you holding a grudge against someone who u once was close with. Try to talk and squash before it’s too late because nobody tryna have any regrets for the rest of their life when someone passes,” another person wrote.
“Damn man, I’ve been waiting for the duo to come back. RIP Quan,” wrote another.

Young Thug, who is busy with his RICO trial, had not commented on RHQ's death at the time of publishing this article.

Exploring the association between late rapper Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug

Rich Homie Quan was a member of Rich Gang, a spin-off venture of Cash Money Records, founded by rapper Birdman and two others including, Jacquees and Young Thug. Thug and RHQ teamed up on a mixtape titled Rich Gang: Tha Tour Part 1, and later on their hit 2014 single, Lifestyle. The duo also collaborated on Gucci Mane's single titled Chasin’ Paper.

"Thug, did you have an issue with Rich Homie?”

The rapper was seen laughing after this question in the viral video.
