Rapper Lil Durk was arrested on murder-for-hire allegations on October 24 and placed in federal detention in Florida. Now, new information has come up as Hot New Hip Hop's October 27 article alleged that the rapper reportedly lost his phone just a week before his arrest.
Additionally, the same source reported that the rapper claimed to have lost his phones on his Instagram Story before his recent arrest. This happened one week before NBC Chicago reported on October 25 that according to fresh documents, Durk was arrested just one hour before he was scheduled to leave the country on Thursday, October 24 on a trip to Italy.
After this, Durk was taken into custody by US Marshalls. The federal indictment released on October 25 stated that Durk and the alleged five other co-conspirators were charged with:
"...One count of conspiracy, one count of use of interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death, and one count of using, carrying and discharging firearms and a machine gun and possession of such firearms in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death."
Lil Durk reportedly tried to flee the country
Just one week after Lil Durk allegedly lost all his phones, he reportedly intended to leave the nation in order to avoid being arrested, as per The Chicago Tribune's October 25 report. The same source said that the rapper was taken into custody by police "in the vicinity of the departing airport" around one hour before the flight.
Moreover, Lil Durk was in Ft. Lauderdale at the time and later made two separate foreign travel reservations to Dubai and Switzerland. However, neither flight was taken.
As per the federal complaint, the entire incident happened before the rapper was arrested in relation to a shooting incident in Los Angeles that targeted a fellow rapper Quando Rondo in 2022. The reports stated that Durk's associate, singer King Von, was allegedly killed by Quando's associate, Lul Timm.
Therefore, Lil Durk allegedly hired five of his associates to kill Georgia musician Rondo, whose real name is Tyquian Terrel Bowman, as payback for the death of King Von in 2020. However, instead, Quando's cousin Lul Pab was killed in the shoot-out.
According to the report, Durk "put out a monetary bounty" for Von's murder. However, all five members of his OTF family, Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston, whom Durk allegedly hired for the murder, were arrested on Thursday morning and several search warrants were executed. They later made an appearance at the Dirksen U.S. Courthouse on Friday.
Additionally, the indictment stated that the accused were charged with conspiracy to conduct murder for hire resulting in death, and using a machine gun resulting in death.
The same report said that according to the prosecution, the five men went to Los Angeles intending to shoot Quando Rondo in his car, but instead, they killed his cousin Saviay'a Robinson, also known as Lul Pab, who was a passenger.
No official statements have been made by the accused's lawyers yet.
