Canadian rapper Drake recently drew attention when DJ Akademiks shared a screenshot of a post that appeared to be 'liked' by Drizzy. In the post was a clip originally shared by the Instagram handle @torontorappers.
The post allegedly liked by Drake featured Rory and MAL discussing on a podcast whether the rapper was in a feud with J. Cole.
The duo also discussed the recently released song Ruby Rosary, where J. Cole had worked with A$AP Rocky.
This possible reaction from Drizzy grabbed massive attention from netizens, who took to social media to express their views.
Other users commented on the alleged feud between J.Cole and Drake.
One user felt that Cole had evidently chosen a side, while others talked about the music of the rappers involved.
While it appeared that J. Cole initially didn't want to get involved in the feud or take sides, his actions suggested otherwise. He seemingly collaborated with artists who had beefed with Drizzy, including A$AP Rocky.
Additionally, the podcasters believed that he had made a choice for himself. MAL believed Cole knew Drizzy wouldn't get into a feud with him.
Some fans, however, disagreed and defended Cole by claiming that he always preferred working with everyone and hence, he didn't want to give up on an opportunity. Meanwhile, Drake's alleged like on the post made many feel he was confirming the beef.
More about Drake and J. Cole's relationship in the music industry
Drake and J. Cole have become two of the most popular rappers in the industry. They first developed a bond years ago when they were both trying to establish themselves on the touring circuit. In an interview with Vibe in 2010, Cole said,
"Right now, it's a mutual respect, like 'I see what you're doing, you're killing the game, I'm a fan or whatever the case is.'"
He further added that they were just starting their musical careers and had so much work to focus on, and they couldn't be "best friends" at that time. Cole continued by stating that they could become friends in the future when they both had established something in life. He additionally mentioned in the 2010 interview:
"We’re not in the position to be best friends. We can save that for when we’re both laid up and chilling, but right now we both have work to do."
Over the years, the duo have worked together on a number of projects. They have been part of each other's tours as well. Last year in October, Drizzy released a studio album named For All the Dogs. A song from the album, titled First Person Shooter features J. Cole.
While many speculations have been made about the alleged feud and enmity between Cole and Drizzy, neither of the artists has officially made a statement about having any issue with the other.
