A fellow guest at the CasaSur Palermo hotel in Buenos Aires has recounted his last encounter with Liam Payne minutes before his death. The former One Direction icon fell from the balcony of his hotel room at CasaSur Palermo on October 16, causing his untimely death at 31.
According to preliminary autopsy reports, Payne's death was caused due to 'polytrauma' and 'internal and external hemorrhage.' The National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office N 16 has classified the case as "dubious" and authorities are yet to reach a conclusive inference as of writing.
In an interview shared by @Morbidful on X (via ITV News), a hotel guest named Bret Watson shared Liam Payne's final moments before he plummeted to his death. Watson was reportedly staying at the same hotel ahead of his wedding.
Watson said that he and other wedding guests saw Liam Payne "causing a disturbance" in the hotel lobby and being escorted to his room several times. He even recounted an event where the singer allegedly smashed his laptop in the hotel lobby. Watson said that the final time Payne came down, he appeared to have passed out.
The hotel guest further mentioned:
"That was about five minutes before the eventual incident that happened. I was in my hotel room two floors directly below him. Looking out the window, saw the body fall and obviously heard the aftermath. You almost had to pinch yourself to understand and process what you were seeing."
The interviewer went on to ask whether the guest understood that it was Liam Payne right after he saw the body.
"I had a suspicion based on the state of mind and condition he was in earlier. I didn't know for sure but that was my first thought," explained the guest.
The guest revealed that one of his friends was assigned a room right across the hall from Liam Payne's. His friend allegedly heard screams and 'primal noises' coming from the singer's room earlier in the day. However, he didn't recall hearing any notice immediately before the fall.
