Johnathan Porter, a.k.a. Blueface, was granted probation for previously violating probation related to his 2022 Las Vegas shooting case. On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, Clark County District Court Judge Kathleen Delaney granted the rapper probation for up to three years, suspending Blueface's two-to-five-year prison sentence.
The ruling followed a bench warrant issued by Delaney for Blueface's disapproval of the mandated terms after a video of him pulling a fan on stage during a show in Utah went viral. In the video, Blue pulled a fan on stage and instructed his fiancee to physically assault her.
As news of the rapper's probation spread, internet users were quick to react, with one commenting:
Many called out Blueface for frequently being in the news last year after getting into fights, especially with his ex, Chrisean Rock. One quipped that his probation terms include a no-social media clause. Here are some comments seen under @theshaderoom's post:
Others criticized the judge for letting Blue get away easily; some even said the rapper was lucky.
Judge Kathleen Delaney sentenced Blueface to serve 30 days in prison
Per the ruling, the Thotina singer will not serve time if he complies with the probation terms. Judge Kathleen Delaney's conditions include not getting into any legal trouble, no alcohol or drug use, including marijuana, staying away from the Las Vegas strip (unless hired to appear), and attending counseling, among others.
Delaney also sentenced Porter to a 30-day prison stint but credited him for time already served. The rapper is currently in jail for an unrelated violation of probation. As reported by XXL, the Bleed It singer attacked a bouncer at a Los Angeles nightclub.
Last October, Blue pleaded guilty to his involvement in an October 2022 shooting at a Las Vegas strip club. At the time, Delaney sentenced Porter to a suspended sentence along with three years of probation.
However, in February 2024, she issued a bench warrant against him for violating the terms of his probation after a video of him pulling a fan on stage during a show in Utah went viral. The fan had allegedly thrown ice at the rapper's fiancée, Jaidyn Alexis. The rapper, who saw the culprit, invited them on stage and reportedly asked Alexis to physically assault her.
Despite being scheduled for a July 2 release, he remains incarcerated. Earlier this month, the rapper's father took to his Instagram to ask fans to pray for his son's release with the caption, "Free Blueface July 29th." He also hoped for Chrisean Rock's release (stemming from assaulting a dancer). Notably, Porter and Rock share an 11-month-old son.
Blueface's next court appearance is scheduled for July 29 in Los Angeles.
