Megan first confessed to lying in the documentary and referred to Gayle King by saying:

"I ain't know that b*tch was even finna ask me about that sh*t. I thought we was gonna talk about this shooting. Why is you asking me about f*cking Tory? Even if I was… I f*cked that n*gga like once, maybe twice on a drunk night. You kept catching me out of my f*cking mind."

Megan stated that she felt caught off guard by the question and decided to "BS" her way through it.

The reaction referred to the time when Nicki Minaj targeted Megan Thee Stallion's mother, Holly Thomas, who passed away in 2019. This came during an Instagram Live video in January this year in response to Megan's single Hiss, where the artist seemingly spoke about Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty. Minaj was spotted saying in the video:

"Bullet fragment foot b*tch. You bringing up 30-year-old tea from when this man was a 15-year-old child. You bringing up 30-year-old tea cause no man will ever f*cking love you and lying on your dead mother."

That same month, Nicki also released a single titled Big Foot, with lyrics suggesting that Megan was lying about being shot by Lanez.

Megan Thee Stallion discusses close friendship with Tory Lanez: Gayle King interview and other details explained

In July 2020, the San Antonio, Texas native claimed via Instagram that Tory Lanez shot her in the feet, as reported by The New York Times. The incident allegedly took place during a party in Hollywood Hills.

In October of that year, Lanez faced certain charges related to assault, including assault with a semi-automatic firearm. He was found guilty of all the charges in December 2022.

During an interview with Gayle King in 2022, Megan Thee Stallion was asked if she was dating Tory Lanez. Megan denied this, saying that they used to be close friends. Gayle then asked if Megan had an "intimate relationship" with Lanez, and the singer responded:

"Like s*xual? Umm, I didn't have a s*xual relationship with Tory."

In her latest documentary, Megan Thee Stallion spoke up on the reasons for lying about her relationship with Tory Lanez, stating that the shooting incident left a different kind of impact on her life. She added:

"I used to be so confident in myself and I used to be like…anybody would've asked me about f*cking somebody and I would've been like, 'So? OK, yeah, I did that sh*t.' I like to f*ck. What about it? But the way they have villainized me for being this type of person, it started to make me second guess myself."
