It appears as if many were dissatisfied with her rendition, as they took to the internet to put the singer on blast. It was noted that the Grammy-nominated singer missed several notes during the performance, leading to her being compared to fellow musician Fergie, who also gave a questionable performance of the national anthem at the 2018 NBA All-Star Game.

Who is Ingrid Andress? All about the singer as national anthem performance prompts criticism online

Ingrid Andress is a Colorado native. She gained immense traction in March 2020 following the release of her debut album, Lady Like. Since then, she has topped the Billboard Hot 100 music chart with songs like More Hearts Than Mine and Wishful Thinking, among others. Speaking about her song lyrics, she said in a Rolling Stone interview last year:

“I feel like I am a lot more comfortable being authentic and vulnerable with people. I think I’ve found there’s power in being honest and vulnerable. I feel like being in love is making me realize that there’s a lot of power in feminine energy.”

The 32-year-old has also been nominated for four Grammys, including best country album, best country song, best new artist, and best country duo/group performance.

Ingrid Andress' performance at the Home Run Derby comes just hours after Andress announced the release of her latest single, titled Colorado 9. The song will be made available on July 24, almost a year after she dropped her second album, Good Person.

The singer, who garnered a following after writing Charli XCX’s hit track Boys, is now scheduled to perform in Nashville and Denver on July 17 and 24, respectively.
