Rapper Megan Thee Stallion shared her thoughts after winning a restraining order against Tory Lanez. According to court reporter Meghann Cunnif, the latter is currently in prison serving a ten-year sentence after being charged with shooting Stallion in 2020.

On Thursday, January 9, Megan Thee Stallion testified at a Los Angeles Court, accusing Lanez of attempting to tarnish her reputation by paying "bloggers" online. She further remarked:

"I feel like maybe he'll shoot me again, and maybe this time I won't make it."

Meghann Cuniff also reported on Thursday (January 9) that Judge Richard Bloom granted Stallion the restraining order against Tory Lanez, ruling that the rapper has a "sustained burden of proof" to support her claims. As per NewsBytes, Bloom also ruled that Stallion has a "credible threat of violence" from Lanez. The singer, who will be in prison until 2030, has been restricted from contacting or coming near Stallion for five years, per Cuniff.

According to Page Six, the restraining order will expire on January 9, 2030, three days before he comes out of jail. The rapper was previously granted a restraining order against Lanez in 2020, but it expired in 2023.

The same media outlet reported that in her petition for the restraining order filed in December 2024, Megan Thee Stallion described Lanez as a "violent and dangerous criminal" who is subjecting the rapper to “repeated trauma and re-victimization.” The filing further claimed that Lanez has not stopped allegedly harassing Stallion despite being behind bars.

Tory Lanez was found guilty of shooting Stallion in the feet back in July 2020 in a December 2022 ruling. The singer was charged with assault with a semi-automatic firearm, carrying a loaded gun, and having an unregistered firearm. In 2023, he was sentenced to a ten-year prison sentence until 2033. However, Lanez is eligible for parole in September 2029.

According to prosecutors, Tory Lanez shot Megan Thee Stallion in the foot in the early morning hours after a party in Los Angeles. Lanez was reportedly angry at Stallion after the latter criticized his rap abilities. The singer fired shots at her while she was walking away from their vehicle.

According to The New York Times, Lanez's attorneys challenged the claim that Stallion fired the shots. They suggested that they were allegedly fired by another woman present at the scene who was upset because Lanez and Stallion were reportedly intimate with each other. Days after the shooting, Stallion took to Instagram to share that she underwent surgery after she "suffered gunshot wounds." However, she did not reveal any additional details.

Later, Megan Thee Stallion named Tory Lanez as her alleged shooter. Tory Lanez was charged with assault in October 2020 by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

During the fiasco, Lanez seemingly addressed the situation in the track Friends Become Strangers from his 2020 album Daystar. He rapped:

“We both know what happened that night and what I did/But it ain’t what they sayin’. (...) If you got shot from behind, how can you identify me?”

In a 2022 interview with CBS’s Gayle King, Megan Thee Stallion addressed the incident. The rapper recalled that the argument reportedly occurred in their SUV while she and her friend, Kelsey Harris, were driving with Tory Lanez after attending a party hosted by Kylie Jenner.

Stallion claimed that after she left the SUV, Lanez allegedly screamed "Dance" and a sexist slur towards her and shot her in the feet. The rapper reportedly apologized and offered her and Harris a million dollars to remain quiet about it. When the police arrived, Stallion claimed to have told them her injuries were caused because she stepped on glass. The rapper also explained how she was affected by the incident in her CBS interview.

“Because Tory has come out and told so many lies about me, and making this all a sex scandal, people don’t want to touch me. It feels like I’m a sick bird," she said.

In her 2020 track, Shots Fired, from her album Good News, Megan Thee Stallion seemingly took shots at Lanez. She rapped:

“If it weren’t for me/Same week, you would have been indicted.”

According to the Times, during the trial, Tory Lanez's lawyer, George Mgdesyan, claimed that Stallion lied and "doesn't come close to proving the case." He also alleged their case was full of "holes and speculation." Further, he claimed it arose from an alleged romantic relationship between Lanez and Stallion.

In December 2022, Tory Lanez was convicted of shooting Megan Thee Stallion. He was sentenced to ten years of prison in 2023. Lanez's attorneys said that they would file an appeal after he was found guilty.
