Rapper Flavor Flav shared a tweet in which he spoke about getting a bronze clock necklace for American gymnast Jordan Chiles after she had to return her Olympic bronze medal on August 5, 2024. In the tweet posted on Sunday, August 11, Flav wrote,
"Ayyy YOOOO @ChilesJordan ,,, imma make you a BRONZE CLOCK NECKLACE,,, and that’s something NO ONE else has,!!! Hit me up my girl,,, I gotchu,!!!"
While Jordan has not replied to the post as she is off social media as of now, her mother Gina Chiles ensured that Flavor Flav received a reply. In a tweet dated August 12, 2024, Gina expressed gratitude to Flav, and wrote,
"Thank you. Means the world. She's not on socials right now as you can imagine. I'll share it with her. 🫶🏽"
In a follow-up tweet, Flav had flaunted the bronze clock medal that he promised to get for Jordan. In the tweet posted on August 12, Flav addressed Jordan and wrote,
"USA gonna Fight the Powers that be,,, in the meantime between time,,, Imma always a man of my word."
Just last month, Flav provided financial help to the US women's water polo team so that they could afford necessary training for the Olympics. As a part of his promise to them, he also provided a free cruise for the team.
Flavor Flav has recently been making headlines for offering support to several US athletes who had participated in the Olympics 2024
Flavor Flav made it to the news again after American athlete Jordan Chiles had to return her Olympic medal, after her coach Cecile Landi allegedly forgot to inquire about her initial fifth position score. While the decision led to a disheartening situation for the team USA fans and her followers, Flav offered an honor to the athlete in the form of a bronze clock necklace.
Jordan's mom even reached out to Flav, as mentioned before, to thank him for the gesture. The rapper had flaunted the medal on social media already by sharing its look. It is, however, important to note that this wasn't the first time that Flav extended support to a team playing for the USA in the Olympics.
Back in July, he promised the water polo team a bonus and cruise journey. On July 1, Flav and U.S. women’s water polo team captain Maggie Steffens, appeared on CBS Mornings together. During the conversation, Flav said,
"These women out here… the women’s water polo team they out there bustin’ their b*tt to make United States look good."
Steffens then mentioned how shocked she was when Flavor Flav came out and pledged to help the team. She said,
"When Flav responded it was definitely not who I expected. But it has been a beautiful, beautiful expectation and relationship that has changed and he’s really opened up a lot of doors and truly been a hype man for us."
The support from Flav to the water polo team arrived after Steffens uploaded a post on Instagram, on May 4, 2024, asking people to donate so that they could train well for the Olympics. Following this, Flavor Flav came to the rescue, promising the team financial aid.
