Claims of Kendrick Lamar’s alleged cousin and fellow singer Hitta J3 allegedly asking followers for help to raise funds for a hospital bed and a wheelchair for his grandparents have spread across the internet. Netizens have since taken to X to react to the same.

For those uninitiated, Hitta J3, whose real name is Dominicke Williams, is a rapper who hails from westside Compton, California. The 32-year-old went viral after appearing on Kendrick Lamar’s GNX album and its title track.

“That’s not even my family” - Hitta J3 takes to X to clarify tweet as netizens seemingly attack Kendrick Lamar online

As the discussion regarding the medical equipment and Hitta J3 asking for financial help erupted online, the singer took to X to clarify that he was not raising money for his own grandparents. On January 13, he said in a tweet:

“& I told y’all that’s not even my family I’m just realer than most to advertise they are I consider anybody with the same color skin as Family”

Hitta J3 gained a following after releasing his breakout song, Do Yo Gudda (Remix), back in 2014. The song featured Kendrick Lamar, Problem, and YG. With a lineup featuring popular artists, it was assured that the singer would amass a fan following of his own.

The West Coast rapper went on to become a part of Jay Worthy’s Meet The Whoops artist collective that features other artists like YS, CEO Wacko, Rosecrans HopOut, Slumlord Trill, and Mari Ruger.

The Meet The Whoops clan went on to perform at Kendrick Lamar’s celebrated The Pop Out: Ken & Friends Juneteenth concert.

Hitta made his debut on the Billboard chart after appearing on Kendrick’s GNX album, which made history by being the first-ever album to have three number one spots on Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs.
