Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s rap battle explored as fans speculate new album by the latter dropping soon
Kendrick Lamar and Drake have been in the news for a while, as the two started a rap war in March 2024. While the feud between the two dates back a decade, it was reignited after Kendrick released Like That, dissing Drake in March 2024.
On the other hand, the two have also collaborated in the past. In 2011, Lamar was featured on Drake’s Take Care. At the time, Drake was also featured on Kendrick’s Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City in 2012. However, the feud between the two started in 2013, when Lamar dissed Drake and other rappers in his song Control.
Thereafter, the two rappers did not release any diss tracks for a whole decade, after which the feud escalated again when Drake and Kendrick started releasing diss tracks targeting each other. After Kendrick Lamar released Like That in March of this year, Drake responded to the song by releasing First Person Shooter, Push Ups, and Taylor Made Freestyle in early April.
Kendrick then released Euphoria and 6:16 in LA, also dissing Drake. This made Drizzy respond to the rapper by releasing Family Matters, in which he bashed the rapper and his relationship with his fiance, Whitney. Kendrick also responded to the accusations by releasing Not Like Us in May and the video of the song in July.
Since the two rappers started the rap war, social media users have been picking sides. This time, too, as the news of Kendrick allegedly releasing a new album went viral, netizens began pouring in their views on the same. However, neither Kendrick nor Drake has commented on this yet.
