Post Malone has expressed his love for one of the Mountain states, Utah, on several occasions. He spoke fondly of the Southwestern state during his concert at Utah First Credit Union Amphitheater in September 2024:
“Moving here to this amazing state was one of the best things I’ve done in my life, besides have a baby girl.”
Post Malone declared his love for the state, and called it one of the most beautiful places on the planet:
“I gotta say, Utah is one of the most beautiful places on the planet, and I’m so grateful and so honored to be a resident here, ladies and gentlemen.”
As the 29-year-old finds his footing in the country music genre, he seems to have found preference in the serenity of Utah as opposed to the bustle of LA. At the same concert, he said:
“I moved to L.A. when I was a kid, and I was like, ‘Hey this is not kind of where I want to be.’ So I did a show here right on the Salt Flats, and I was like, ‘This place rocks.’ ... Like a week later we bought a house here."
More details on Post Malone’s life in Utah
In September 2019, the Sunflower hitmaker in an interview with Apple Music’s Beats 1, discussed his album, Hollywood’s Bleeding, and his time in Utah. He disclosed that the Beehive state helped ease his anxiety and was a good fit for him:
"I’d say since the beginning of middle school, I always felt like I was always anxious and kind of sad all the time, but I kind of came out of it. Being in Utah and being away from the grind and from everybody else and it’s just me with my video games and cold one that feels good to me.”
He described Utah as an Oasis away from Los Angeles while stating that he was sick of the latter. He also said that the inhabitants of LA cared more about themselves than anyone else.
Post Malone featured on the cover of the January 2022 issue of Billboard where he gave fans and readers a glimpse into his life in Utah. He revealed that some people in his inner circle, aside from his father, Rich Post, and co-manager, Dre London weren’t enthusiastic about his move to his near seven-acre mountainside home in Utah from LA.
They wanted him to stay back in LA because "that was where the work got done" but he said he was "fed up." He said about LA:
"There’s always something to do, and someone always wants something from ya — and I didn’t want to go crazy.”
In the interview, he described a day in his life in Utah when he wasn't working—from watching TV to playing video games and hanging out with buddies from local gun shop Gallerson’s Guns and Ammo.
According to the Deseret News, since he moved to Utah, Post Malone has been active in his community. He performed at the NBA All-Star Game in Salt Lake City in February 2023 and also donated a signed guitar for a fund-raising project for the Utah Honor Flight Program in the same year.
Post Malone has demonstrated his love for his new-found home by beginning his highly-anticipated F-1 Trillion Tour at the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheater in West Valley. The tour continues till October 2024 and will conclude in Austin, Texas.
