Singer Luke Bryan has been in the headlines after he fell on stage on April 20, 2024. The incident happened when he was performing at the Coast City Country Festival in Vancouver, Canada, and was recorded on video, which has gone viral on social media.
Bryan seemingly toppled due to a cell phone that was tossed over by someone from the crowd. He had the phone in his hand and as he threw it back to the owner, the person reportedly apologized. He then told the anonymous individual:
"It's okay. My lawyer will be calling."
The video revealed that the artist landed on the back and braced through the left arm. However, he did not suffer any severe injuries and managed to get up on his feet. A new update on the case stated that the fall was not caused due to the cell phone and Bryan actually slipped when he was on stage.
Luke Bryan immediately addressed the crowd after his fall
As mentioned earlier, the Nashville star grabbed hold of a cell phone and started speaking to the person who possibly threw it on stage. A few people ran to help him, and he reportedly had to get some stitches later. At the time, however, he started performing again.
As Luke Bryan began checking the phone, he displayed a video of his fall being played on the screen. He told the cameraman to zoom on the phone and said:
"Oh, you're Snapchatting, you can't Snapchat this sh*t."
He addressed the fall, saying that he was "hyping the crowd" when it happened. He added that he needed something that could go viral and as a reference to his song, he said:
"Hashtag 'Love You, Miss You, Mean It."
Luke Bryan has been a victim of similar incidents in the past in 2014 and 2022. In 2022, Bryan fell while dancing on stage wearing skinny jeans during his performance at Raleigh.
The 2014 incident happened at the PNC Music Pavilion and was also recorded on video. While he stood up, he also questioned why North Carolina "makes me bust my a*s" and the fall led to some stitches in the leg.
Luke Bryan addresses the fall during his appearance on American Idol
The CMT Crossroads star has been on the judges' panel of American Idol for around six years. As he appeared in an episode of the reality show on April 21, 2024, Ryan Seacrest referred to the fall by saying:
"I just want to check to make sure. Luke, you're moving OK? You looked alright at the open of the show there. Are you damaged in any way?"
Seacrest even started showing the video of the incident, and Bryan responded by saying:
"I'm alright, baby! [It was] actually the best moment of the night."
Bryan's new single titled Love You, Miss You, Mean It was released in February this year. The song was released a few months after his EP, Songs You Never Heard, came out in November 2023.
Furthermore, Luke is also busy with the Mind of a Country Boy tour which started on April 17 in Calgary, Alberta. Bryan even announced the event through his official website and the final show is scheduled to be held in Tampa, Florida on September 14.
