In a recent development that has garnered widespread attention, Kelsey Harris has officially been cleared of any wrongdoing by both parties involved in the shooting incident that injured Megan Thee Stallion.

On August 1, 2024, Harris took to her X account and suggested that media coverage and reports can often be confusing. She further emphasized that despite the media frenzy, it is important to remember that both parties involved in the incident have cleared her name of any involvement.

"It's easy to get lost in the media, but let's remember MY NAME was cleared by both parties involved. Stay tuned," Harris tweeted.

The statement came after Tory Lanez's driver proposed a statement suggesting that the gun Megan Thee Stallion was injured with was held by Kelsey Harris. Furthermore, Joe Budden also shed light on an incident from 2020.

The alleged shooting incident dates back to July 2020, when Megan Thee Stallion, along with Tory Lanez and Kelsey Harris, were returning from a late-night party at Kylie Jenner's Hollywood Hills home. Lanez allegedly shot the rapper in her leg.

Kelsey Harris broke her silence on August 1 to set the record straight on an alleged shooting incident involving Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez.

The statement came after Joe Budden, on his podcast The Joe Budden Podcast on July 31, 2024, reflected on the incident and suggested that he was aware of the person behind the shooting. He indicated that Lanez was set up in this case. Calling Megan Thee Stallion a "pawn," Budden said:

"First of all, I think it's above her. I don't think she made it up. It's above her. She's a mere pawn in this. This play is greater than her. She didn't make nothing up."

Budden added that he is aware of how the gun was placed in the car and whose gun it was, but he chose not to name anyone during the podcast.

"I ain't gon' say who I think made it up but it wasn't her. Actually, [expletive] out there know who it is. I ain't saying it on this broadcast but I know exactly who it is, I know how that gun got there, I know who gun it was," Budden added.

Joe Budden further elaborated on the situation involving Kelsey Harris, noting that Harris had directly messaged him after his last conversation about the alleged incident. In her message, Kelsey Harris suggested he refrain from further discussing the incident.

"And I thought it was weird that the last time we talked about this sh*t, Kelsey jumped in my DMs talking 'bout, 'Hey, don't talk about this no more.' Why? You got immunity. It's odd. Why wouldn't you want somebody to talk about one of the biggest cases in however many years? That was odd to me," Budden concluded.

As per Tribune, on July 30, 2024, Tory Lanez's driver, Jauquan Smith, who also witnessed the 2020 alleged shooting incident, gave a statement suggesting that he saw Kelsey Harris holding a gun.

Smith claimed that there was an altercation between Megan Thee Stallion and Kelsey Harris, and Lanez was trying to stop them. Therefore, during the struggle, the trigger was pulled, resulting in Megan Thee Stallion sustaining gunshots. Smith suggested that he did not see who pulled the trigger.

The initial reports of the incident suggested that Tory Lanez was apprehended under suspicion that he held a gun but was later released. Furthermore, Megan Thee Stallion initially indicated that a broken glass hurt her.

However, three days later, Megan took to her Instagram and suggested in a now-deleted post that she suffered gunshots. Later, in August 2020, Megan, on her Instagram Live, named Tory Lanez and indicated that he shot her.

"Yes, Tory shot me. You shot me, and you got your publicist and people to these blogs lying. Stop lying," Megan said.

Later that year, Lanez, in his 17-track album, Daystar, accused Megan of framing him in the alleged shooting incident.

"I'm done with this, you gotta know the truth, you get shot in your foot, don't hit no bones or tendons?" he rapped.

As per Time Magazine, Lanez, real name Daystar Peterson, was sentenced to ten years of imprisonment following his involvement in shooting and wounding Megan Thee Stallion.

Megan is yet to comment on the statement released by Lanez's driver and Joe Budden's remarks.
