Rapper Kid Cudi took to social media on Thursday, January 23, 2025, to address the jokes fans had been making about his Los Angeles home invasion. The rapper's home was burglarized on January 15, 2025, and the intruder reportedly helped himself to the food in the rapper's kitchen. He also allegedly took a shower and used Cudi's washroom before the LA County Sheriff's deputies arrested him.
When Cudi learned about fans making jokes about the situation, he addressed the same via his Instagram Story and X accounts. He set the record straight, noting that it was a "crazed fan" who had allegedly been stalking him for years who broke into his house.
Noting that the situation was "not funny," Cudi said he wasn't aware of the stalking. He added that the alleged intruder had been to shows that the rapper had "done in the States and overseas." In his social media post, he also wrote that the alleged intruder "drove across the country" and broke into his house "hoping to talk" with him about "collabing and ideas he had."
He also addressed those making fun of the invasion and said he didn't feel safe. The rapper added that he planned on taking "some serious safety measures" to ensure that a situation like this didn't arise again.
"There is nothing funny about this. My privacy was violated, and now I have to protect myself," the rapper wrote.
He noted that while he wasn't online to see comments and jokes about his situation, he was aware that it was happening. Kid Cudi also clarified in advance that the invasion and the people's reactions to it were the reason that he may become standoffish in public.

Kid Cudi admits to not feeling safe following the home invasion in his LA house
Days after Kid Cudi said that he had to evacuate his home after the wildfires spread across Los Angeles, police found a burglar in his home. The incident started when someone was seen with their top off inside the house via security cameras.
The burglar was arrested that same day and booked for felony burglary and theft of utilities. He was held on a $150,000 bail. The incident left the rapper-actor spooked and in his latest Instagram story and X post, he said that he didn't feel safe anymore.
"I dont feel safe now. He rummaged though personal things, my fiancé's stuff, took a shower and ate, all while thinking he was actually gonna have a conversation w me," he added.
Kid Cudi admitted to having amped up his security since the invasion, hoping that it would never again. He also rebuffed previous claims that the man who broke into his house could have been homeless, stating that he was "an unhinged 34-year-old man."
In another post, Cudi said that his time on X "is done," adding that he won't be active on social media because it has been "much cooler being disconnected." He also noted that he had previously been "too accessible" to people and if he ever gave updates to fans online, it would be about his art and projects.
