“Thank you to the fans, ’cause Billboard is counting your stuff. They’re counting what you listen to, the albums that you’re passionate about, and so I count these as fan-voted awards because you guys are the ones who care about our albums and come see us in concert. Everything that has happened with The Eras Tour and The Tortured Poets Department, I just have to say thank you."
The 14-time Grammy winner continued:
“It means the world to me that you guys have embraced the things I have made, you know? And the fact that you’ve cared so much about my music. This is the nicest early birthday present you could have given me. So, thank you very much, I love it. It’s exactly what I wanted.”

From the Eras Tour to The Tortured Poets Department: A look back at Taylor Swift's 2024 achievements
Taylor Swift had a successful 2024, having received multiple awards and releasing a new album. On February 4, 2024, Swift won her fourth Album of the Year Grammy Award for her work in the 2022 album, Midnights. Her win made her the artist with the most number of AOTY awards of all time, tied with Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, and Paul Simon.
During her 2024 Grammy acceptance speech, Taylor Swift announced the release of her eleventh studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. The album was released in two parts on April 19, 2024, as the pop star surprised her fans with several new songs after dropping the main album. The songs were put together in The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology.
Upon release, the album broke multiple sales and streaming records. The Tortured Poets Department spent 16 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 200 in the United States. Swift also became the only artist to occupy the top 14 spots of the US Billboard Hot 100, beginning with Fortnight.
Further, Taylor Swift concluded her record-breaking Eras Tour in Vancouver, Canada, on December 8, 2024. The tour, which began in March 2023, spanned 149 concerts in 50 cities and five continents. It was a special tour that featured 18 years of Swift's music and had an 'era' or segment dedicated to each of her albums. In May 2024, she added a new segment dedicated to her newly released album, The Tortured Poets Department.
Another highlight of 2024 for Taylor Swift was the release of The Eras Tour Book on November 30. The book was released exclusively on Target and included multiple visual highlights from Swift's tour. The nonfiction book includes over 500 pictures, including unseen behind-the-scenes images.
Upon release, the book became the number two nonfiction debut of all time, as per data shared by Circana Bookscan. As per Circana, the book sold 814,000 copies in its first week and second only to Barrack Obama's 2020 memoir, A Promised Land.
