Talking about the same, he said-
“Like, I'm not even gonna sugarcoat sh*t, like, I was with Nicki, we broke up, so her fans and certain people, they just wanted it to be like, okay, they're not together no more, f*ck him, let disintegrate, let him disappear, whatever.”
He further continued-
“So it was like, nobody wanted to be next to me, nobody wanted to, like, work with me or none of that sh*t, so it just made everything hard.”
Speaking of other things, he further revealed that after eight years, he had left the well-liked reality series Love & Hip Hop.
Safaree talked about his relationship with his ex Nicki Minaj
American rapper Safaree recently appeared on the We in Miami podcast and opened up about his life, relationship, and other issues. In a viral clip from the recent episode, which is yet to be released, Safaree said that following their breakup, several of Nicki's supporters and followers began to show less interest in him and expressed a desire to stay away from him.
He continued-
“But 9, 10 years later, 10, 15 TV shows later, lot of music out later, doors up later, cribs like, I'm still here, and, you know, some people don't like that, they're like, damn, why is still paying attention to this sh*t?”
He further added-
“When me and Nicki first broke up, and she got with Meek, and they were like, the biggest in the world, and we was all beefing and sh*t, you gotta think about it, I had two of the biggest people in the world, like, against me, so that made everybody be against me.”
The rapper then claimed that no one in the industry wanted to work with him or be around him. He continued, saying that these things made life difficult. He recalled this being a dark period in his life, which had a significant impact on him.
He then went on to say that there were restrictions, such as not being allowed to give each other kisses or display affection in public.
He also discussed the incident in which Kanye West revealed that he once asked Safaree if Nicki would be interested in a threes*me because, apparently, he was unaware that he and Nicki were a couple.
Talking about the same, he further said-
“He was with Amber, we was in Hawaii, and we playing basketball, and this guy is like, like, on some homeboy sh*t with me…. I just was like, I don't know, bro, you just got to see what's up. He down with the mission.”
This interview came after 10 years of Safaree and Nicki’s breakup. TMZ reported that the two parted ways in 2014 after 12 years of togetherness because Safaree had allegedly begun to feel envious of Nicki Minaj's popularity.
On a different note, the rapper further talked about quitting the Love & Hip Hop series. He said that he was done with the show after making appearances on the Hollywood, Miami, New York, and Atlanta franchises. He further cited the show's exclusivity requirements as the reason for his decision.
AllHipHop reported that in the same interview, he further said-
"I walked away. They filming. I didn't even sign back on. I woulda did it again, but these lawyers and everybody, they be wanting to have all these exclusivity rights. And it's like you can't have me tied down and say, 'OK, only here. You can't do anything else.' You gotta pay me to sit."
However, despite his complaints, Safaree also highlighted the positive influence Love & Hip Hop had on his professional life as well.
On the other hand, Nicki Minaj didn’t say anything about the interview as of yet.
