As anticipation builds for Travis Scott's highly anticipated concert in Melbourne, recent events outside the venue have sparked outrage and concern among fans and social media users alike.

On October 22, 2024, before Scott's Circus Maximus concert in Melbourne, Australia, a large crowd gathered outside the venue, Marvel Stadium. After enduring extended wait times in the queue, some individuals allegedly broke through barriers and littered the area, as depicted in various online videos.

The incident has drawn immediate comparisons to the tragic Astroworld Festival on November 5, 2021, an annual musical event hosted by American rapper Travis Scott at NRG Park in Houston, Texas. According to Billboard, the overcrowded rushes and devasted situation led to ten deaths of people who were between 9 and 27 years old.

Therefore, fans took to their X account to express their apprehension and emphasize the need for improved safety measures and responsible behavior at live events.

"Not astroworld again please," one wrote.

Many users on X criticized Scott's fanbase, describing their behavior as reckless and animalistic. Some commentators went as far as to label his fanbase as the worst, expressing frustration over the recent incidents.

"His fan are nothing but a bunch of ANIMALS…have they learned NOTHING about safety precautions from the AstroWorld situation???" one wrote.
"the worst fanbase omg," another commented.
"You can't fix stupid I guess," a netizen commented.
"Well s**t do be attracting annoying flies," one wrote on X.

However, some users on X expressed concern that Travis Scott's silence on the matter is particularly troubling. Additionally, others voiced their disbelief over the behavior of a 15-year-old seen in the viral videos, highlighting the chaotic nature of the situation.

"and travis being perfectly fine with this is concerning," one on X.
"15 years old boys out of control omg," a netizen commented.
"There's nothing I want LESS than to go to a Travis Scott concert," another commented.

As discussions continue online, neither Travis Scott nor his team has addressed the incident involving the large crowd allegedly breaking through the barriers or the subsequent reactions expressed online.

Chaos in Melbourne as Travis Scott fans allegedly break barriers and litter ahead of concert

According to the Tribune, before Travis Scott's Circus Maximus concert on Tuesday, the crowd reportedly exceeded expectations due to extensive wait times. Witnesses cited by the Tribune noted that many attendees were seen climbing over barriers and disregarding staff instructions, raising significant safety concerns.

Furthermore, according to 7 News, security measures for the Travis Scott concert were reportedly insufficient. Reports indicated that multiple altercations occurred outside Marvel Stadium, and several ticket holders were seen breaking through barriers to reach the mosh pit.

A Marvel Stadium spokesperson spoke to The Advocate and claimed that although the majority of the 55,000 Scott's fans acted decently, some didn't.

"There was an incredible level of energy and enthusiasm for the show last night. While the majority of the 55,000 strong crowd acted appropriately, there were some who didn't," the spokesperson reported.

Richard Theodorakis, director of the Pride Security Group, emphasized that the safety of security personnel and attendees was compromised during the event.

"A lot of the incidents started from the second lines formed at the front and, if you look at the footage, those lines are quite dense and wide, meaning for police to have any effect, someone could just rush into that crowd and you'd never find them again," Theodorakis said.

The director of the Pride Security Group further stated that inadequate security measures encourage individuals to create problems for themselves and others.

In a separate statement to 7 News, Marvel Stadium stated that sufficient security measures were implemented for the event. They also said that those who didn't behave appropriately were denied entry.

"More than 55,000 fans attended the concert's second night. While most behaved appropriately, some were denied entry or ejected for misconduct," Marvel Stadium said.

According to 7 News, Marvel Stadium announced plans to conduct a post-concert review with security contractors. Despite the disruptions, the show at Melbourne proceeded as scheduled, ensuring a successful event.
