Lizzo, the American rapper and singer, born Melissa Viviane Jefferson on April 27, 1988, in Detroit, Michigan, revealed that she has reached her "weight release goal" for the first time since 2014, marking a milestone in her fitness journey.

The Grammy-winning singer posted an Instagram selfie on January 25, showing her progress with a maroon sports bra and leggings after reaching her fitness goals.

In her Instagram post, Lizzo expressed pride in her achievement, writing,

"I did it. Today when I stepped on my scale, I reached my weight release goal. I haven’t seen this number since 2014! Let this be a reminder—you can achieve anything you set your mind to."

Numerous fans congratulated her, but online users expressed confusion about her decision not to reveal specific weight numbers in her scale readout. One X user commented.

"ozempic” yall she’s obviously actually working out and eating healthier- not everything is ozempic."

More fans congratulated the singer.

"Proof that you can do anything you focus on," another user commented.
"Congrats Lizzo," another added.

Some reactions also discussed the impact of Lizzo's transformation on the body positivity movement.

"Good for her! Keep going and inspire others to work on themselves too!" one user wrote.
"Number can be triggering," another remarked.
"A reminder that no goal is too far when you believe in yourself," a fan commented.

Melissa Viviane Jefferson also shared that she had reduced her Body Mass Index (BMI) by 10.5 points and decreased her body fat by 16% since the beginning of her fitness journey in January 2024.

The singer, who advocates for body positivity, posted a TikTok dance featuring Kelly Rowland's Like This with her new toned figure to celebrate her achievements. In the caption, she emphasized that while she would never be considered "thin," she was happy with her progress and felt accomplished.

Despite openly sharing her fitness routine, Melissa Viviane Jefferson has faced ongoing speculation about her weight loss methods. In a previous post, she shut down rumors about using Ozempic, a medication commonly linked to weight loss.

"When you finally get Ozempic allegations after 5 months of weight training and calorie deficit," she joked in an Instagram video last September.

In October 2024, she even dressed as "LizzOzempic" for Halloween to humorously address the speculation, further reinforcing that her transformation was achieved through dedicated workouts and dietary changes.

Lizzo has been vocal about her evolving views on body positivity, shifting toward a "body neutrality" approach. In a March 2024 interview with The New York Times, she explained,

"The idea of body positivity, it's moved away from the antiquated mainstream conception. It’s evolved into body neutrality."

She added,

"I'm not going to lie and say I love my body every day. The bottom line is, the way you feel about your body changes every single day. There are some days I adore my body, and others when I don't feel completely positive."

She hinted through social media in 2024 that she would release new music and an upcoming album. Major Melissa Viviane Jefferson fans expect her upcoming new album to be released after her Special album in 2022, although an official date remains unconfirmed. The year will see Lizzo perform at numerous high-profile music events and festivals.
