"Not the studio being her prison" — Internet reacts to Cardi B's IG story about being back at "Atlantic Records correctional facilities"

On Tuesday, August 27, Cardi B posted a clip on her Instagram story capturing Atlantic Records studio. She captioned the story mentioning:

"Back at Atlantic Records correctional facilities."

The post by the rapper came about a few months after Atlanta Records uploaded a tweet mentioning an upcoming project involving her. The record label jokingly wrote,

"Cardi B's upcoming album is one of the most anticipated this year. We can't wait to put it out, even if we have to sneak into her studio and take it!"

It was, however, also highlighted that on May 14, the rapper revealed that she was not going to release any new project this year.

This clip garnered massive attention from the netizens, who ended up flooding the internet with their responses. Here are some of the online reactions:

One netizen wrote:

"She clearly doesn’t wanna do it 😭😭 That album will definitely be nothing but SHIT," added a tweet.

A number of other netizens took had posted their reactions on X. Many criticized her for comparing her studio to a prison. One user tweeted:

"She called the studio jail. That’s crazy."
"So the studio is her prison? This is sad for us... why does she think of it that way," commented another one.
"Lmfao is she meeting her ghost writer?" mentioned a user.

Cardi B had been teasing her fans with the possible release of her sophomore album

For over a year, rapper Cardi B had been teasing the release of her second studio album. The I Like It artist has officially launched only one album to date, titled Invasion Of Privacy. She has not launched any further album since the 2018, release of her debut one.

In April 2024, after celebrating the sixth anniversary of her debut album, she revealed working on a new project and that it could be her second studio album, as reported by Billboard. She had posted many tweets over the time since then hinting at the possible release. Fans too seemed quite excited.

One even jokingly tweeted that they were on their way to get the Hermes bag that the rapper was looking for. The tweet was made in response to one of Cardi B's tweets, where she said,

"If you find me the bag I’ll release my album cover 😳."

In another tweet posted by the rapper back in August, she referred to having the album cover options prepared. According to the tweet, she was yet to make the final choices. She wrote on X,

"Album covers are taken... I just don’t know which to pick 😳."

Fans are now eagerly waiting for the rapper to drop the project or give more solid hints about the same. While Cardi B had not dropped any album since her debut one, she had already released two singles this year in March, which were titled Enough (Miami) and Puntería. She had also released the music video for Like What (Freestyle) in March.
