Drake fired shots at comedian Ben Da Donn in the comments section of his latest Instagram post, uploaded on September 4, 2024. The comedian uploaded a video of him rapping freestyle over classic instrumental music, hopping on the trend done by many rappers. The video was captioned:

"When rappers go do freestyles and ruin classic instrumentals."

Drake, who has been friends with the comedian for years, decided to good-naturedly clown him for the video and the caption, calling the latter "pick me."

"AYYYEEE MAN….. Chillllllllll cuhhh," the comedian replied.

Drake was not the only one to roast the comedian for his video. The comments section was filled with people jesting about the rap.

Ben Da Donn supported Drake in his feud with Rick Ross

Ben Da Donn and Drake have been good friends for years, often playfully teasing each other. One pinned video on the comedian's Instagram page is a skit he did with Drizzy in October 2023.

The skit followed the Canadian rapper crashing the comedian's dates and flirting with the women. One of the clips was also filmed when Drake performed a show on stage, with the rapper directly looking at Ben Da Donn's date and singing to her.

The two were also involved in a similar skit in August 2023, where Drizzy wooed the woman the comedian was on a date with. He complimented her name and showed her the late rapper 2Pac's $1 million ring he bought in an auction.

So it stands to reason why the comedian defended his friend during the rapper's many feuds involving Rick Ross, Future, Metro Boomin, and Kendrick Lamar in April and May.

On April 13, Rick Ross released Champagne Moments, a play on Drizzy's Instagram handle @champagnepapi. The track was a response to the latter's diss track Push Ups, which came after Ross unfollowed him on Instagram after featuring in Metro Boomin and Future's We Don't Trust You album.

In Push Ups, Drizzy insinuated that Ross owed all his hit songs to him as the two had collaborated often before their relationship soured. In Champagne Moments, Ross rapped:

"I unfollowed you, n***a, 'cause you sent a motherf**kin' cease and desist to French Montana, n***a. You sent the police, n***a, hated on the dog project."

Following this, Ben Da Donn took to social media to mock Rick Ross for talking about social media while nearing his 50s.

“Imagine being 50sum tambout ‘AND THATS WHY I UNFOLLOWED YOU!!!!’ HMMMPPPHHH,” he wrote.

According to Hot New Hip Hop, Ross replied to the comedian, telling him to "wash the bottom" of his yacht. Ben Da Donn also responded to people telling him to stay away from the drama, saying that roasting was where he came from as a comedian.
