Sabrina Carpenter reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart with her latest single, Please Please Please, on June 24, 2024. This marked a major milestone in her music career as it was her first number-one hit on the chart.

Carpenter announced her achievement with a response on June 24, 2024. She posted a photo of her song’s top position alongside a disparaging comment she had received about the track.

The critic had written, "I don't think I've ever seen someone fumble a second single this hard. my goodness." In a turn of events, the critic later responded to her success with a gracious, "Congrats diva! Made me eat my words!"

In her post, Carpenter captioned the screenshot with a simple yet impactful “ohhhh,” followed by four crying emojis. She added, "I'm a grateful grateful grateful girl.".

One of Carpenter's supporters said,

"Got the man privating his account FAST," a user commented.
"Oh she definitely went to the School of Petty taught by Rihanna," another user responded.
"i just wanna know why they said that in the first place when you’ve been doing amazing 😭💀 congrats mama!!" an user remarked.

However, not all responses were positive.

"So you basically asking people to attack the account. This is wild." One user said.
"you are trying to be funny so bad i can't..." another commented.
"You asking people to attack this person… literally grow up." another user said.

Sabrina Carpenter celebrates Billboard No. 1 with Please Please Please

The song’s music video features Carpenter'sromantic partner, actor Barry Keoghan. In the video, Carpenter and Keoghan portray a couple whose love story unfolds with a storyline.

On June 24th, Sabrina Carpenter expressed her gratitude on Instagram, sharing screenshots of the Billboard chart rankings. In her heartfelt caption, she thanked Jack Antonoff for his production, Amy Allen for co-writing the song, and Laura Sisk for engineering it.

Earlier this month, Sabrina Carpenter shared with Rolling Stone:

"I'm literally just annoying. I never had a plan B, and it never crossed my mind that it wouldn't work out. I always believed it was a matter of when, not if, it would happen."

This track will be part of her sixth studio album, Short n’ Sweet, set to be released on August 23, 2024.
