Rihanna and Pardison Fontaine have been trending for some time after the duo's pictures went viral on social media. Notably, the latter shared the photos through his official Instagram page on January 1, 2025, and added the music of his single My Pardi to the post. He wrote in the caption:
"The Good Guy X The Bad Gyal."
The photos were captured at the Girls Love Karaoke event, which was held on December 29, 2024, in New York City. Fontaine's post included three pictures with the singer where the latter covered her face with a hoodie and was spotted holding onto Pardison.

Meanwhile, a glimpse of Pardison Fontaine's photos was also obtained by The Neighborhood Talk, and netizens took to the comments section of their Instagram post to share their reactions. One of them seemingly referred to Fontaine by writing:

Users were spotted praising the looks of Pardison and Rihanna in the photos, with one of them addressing that the latter has not released any new music until now. Another person questioned if Pardison was fine after zooming onto his face in the photos. Bieber reposted a video initially shared by a fan page through his Instagram Story on January 3, 2025. The clip shows Rihanna performing her song Needed Me, and Bieber wrote on top:
"Missed seein u sing Queen."
The Saint Michael, Barbados native opted for a graphic T-shirt alongside jeans and Bottega Veneta boots, completing her look with a fur hat as she appeared at the karaoke event. According to BET, she was also joined by the attendees while singing as she shared the mic.
While Rihanna has not announced a new album for a long time, she addressed the same when she spoke to Extra while launching the new Fenty Beauty Soft'lit Foundation in April last year. She said it would be "amazing," because it has not been released yet. She further stated:
