Exploring charges against five arrested members of Lil Durk's OTF
On October 24, federal agents arrested five OTF members in connection to the 2022 murder of rapper Quando Rondo's cousin, Saviay'a Robinson. The five rappers were charged with conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, allegedly as retaliation for the murder of former OTF member King Von.
King Von, aka Dayvon Daquan Bennett, was fatally shot on November 6, 2020, outside Monaco Hookah Lounge in Atlanta. He was reportedly involved in an altercation with a rival group comprising Quando Rondo and Timothy "Lul Tim" Leeks. The brawl led to a gunfight, resulting in the deaths of King Von and two other men.
According to federal prosecutors, the murder of Saviay'a Robinson in 2022 was intended as revenge for the death of King Von. They claimed that the shooting in August 2022 was a direct consequence of Lul Timm's actions in 2020.
Prosecutors believed that Quando Rondo was the intended target of the attack. However, the bullets ended up taking the life of his 24-year-old cousin, Saviay'a Robinson. To understand the incident clearly, let's revisit the events that transpired on August 19, 2022.
According to a report by Fox 11 Los Angeles, a white vehicle pulled up near Quando Rondo's black Cadillac Escalade at a gas station and fired at them. Although the Cadillac drove off immediately, the incident resulted in Quando Rondo's cousin Saviay'a Robinson getting shot and dying shortly afterward. However, Rondo remained unscathed by the end of the incident.
As per the indictment, the five OTF members reportedly set up a bounty and used a credit card associated with OTF to book flight tickets from Chicago to California and learn about Quando Rondo's whereabouts.
The federal agents also stated that Kavon London Grant himself flew to California to oversee the operation. He arranged hotel rooms, food, cars with fake license plates, and other requirements to carry out their alleged plan.
According to TMZ, Jones and Houston will be presented to their respective hearings in Chicago on Monday. Meanwhile, the other three will have their hearings in Los Angeles, as they have reportedly waived their right to a hearing in Chicago.
