Rapper Bobby Shmurda recently criticized Rick Ross for allegedly getting him kicked off a show over his jokes. The Florida musician recently took to his Instagram to express his disappointment at the Maybach Music Co. executive, saying:

"I just got the call. I really respect, like I really f**k with you. I don’t f**k with you on no gangster sh*t. Y’all artists has got to understand this. I don't f**k with ya n*ggas on no gangster sh*t."

The situation arose because of Shmurda's comments about the alleged attack on Ross in Vancouver. On Sunday, June 10, 2024, Rozay and his crew were allegedly jumped by Drake fans during the rapper's performance at a music festival in Vancouver. Videos from the incident showed him getting punched in the face.

Following the fight, Ross made light of the situation and shared an IG post saying, "Vancouver it was fun, till next time." However, he later released a video claiming he wasn't punched. As news of the incident spread, Shmurda took to social media to joke about it and explain how he would have handled it.

As Bobby Shmurda's comments went viral, internet users were quick to react. One exclaimed that this was a loss for Rick Ross, saying:

However, most comments called out Shmurda for disrespecting Ross first. Some explained that the rapper shouldn't have gotten involved in someone else's feud. Here are some comments seen under @akademik's post on Instagram:

A few netizens came to the Miami-born rapper's defense, saying that the Maybach Music Group head was pressed because the former spoke the truth. Others called Ross out for not being able to take jokes.

"So like why you ain't call me big homie?"— Bobby Shmurda expresses frustration for not getting the news directly from Rick Ross

Shmurda explained that his frustration stemmed from getting the news through a third party rather than Rick Ross.

"So like why you ain't call me big homie? Why I got to get the call from n**gas talking about 'Yo, Rick Ross kicked you off the show. We work with,' I got the call from Barbados," he added.

Bobby said he was an "independent" artist and thus already beefing with top powers in the hip-hop industry. He added that his age and his background make it all the more difficult for him. He explained that he was actually defending Rozay.

"I ain’t with all this other s**t. Why you gotta—you could have called me big homie. When I made that video I was defending you."

A fight ensued at Vancouver's Ignite Music Festival after Rick Ross allegedly tried playing Kendrick Lamar's diss track, Not Like Us, leading to a confrontation with a group of people. The resulting altercation led to the rapper getting punched in the face.

Following the incident, Bobby Shmurda took to his Instagram to state he would have "went out like C-Murda" if it were him in Ross' place (referring to the incarcerated rapper C-Murda). Despite trying to defend Rozay, his comments also seemed to criticize Ross.

Rick Ross has not publicly reacted to Shmurda's claims.
