Hip-hop fans recently reacted to podcaster DJ Akademiks's X posts about Kendrick Lamar's Not Like Us music video, which was released on Thursday (July 4). The social media influencer seemed pleased by K Dot's MV and wrote three posts on X praising the rapper. He mentioned:

"Watching this Not Like Us video. He did give everybody a look. Pretty good video ngl." the influencer wrote in another post.
"Whitney dancing and clowning drake is hilarious lol. ngl." Akademiks added in third X post.

Akademiks's reaction surprised some fans, as it is widely speculated that the podcaster is a fan of Drake. Kendrick Lamar takes new digs at Drake with Not Like Us music video

Almost a month after Drake and Kendrick Lamar's feud ended, K Dot dropped the music video for Not Like Us on July 4. It has turned out to be one of his most popular Drizzy diss tracks. The video includes multiple clear and alleged references to Drake and his OVO label.

The video is directed by Dave Free and Kendrick Lamar and features multiple special appearances from West Coast rappers. The song producer, Mustard, is also part of the music video as he appears wearing a Toronto Blue Jays cap. The Hollywood Reporter reported that Mustard's attire is an alleged dig at Toronto-native Drake.

The video includes cameos by Tommy the Clown, NBA sta DeMar DeRozan, and Top Dog Entertainment CEO, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith. DeRozan was a former player for the Toronto Raptors, and his cameo could be another alleged dig at Drizzy.

At the beginning, the video features a clip of Kendrick Lamar doing push-ups with Tommy The Clown directing him. This is allegedly a reference to one of Drake's diss tracks, Push Ups, per THR.

The publication also alleged that Lamar featuring his partner, Whitney Alford, and their two children is a reply to Drake's allegations against Kendrick in Family Matters. In the track, Drizzy claimed that one of Lamar's kids was not fathered by him.

Lamar's video contains multiple references to owls, widely associated with Drake's OVO label. There are scenes where an owl is seen resting on Lamar's shoulder, an owl trapped in a cage, and one of K Dot shaming an owl pinata.

The video shows a disclaimer that's a clear dig at Drizzy's OVO label, as it reads:

“No OVHo*s were harmed during the making of this video.”

Apart from the aforementioned visuals, Kendrick's video also has clips of the audience cheering and singing along the lines of the song.

Lamar first dropped Not Like Us on May 4, 2024, in response to Drake's previous diss track aimed at him, Family Matters. Kendrick then responded to Drizzy with his track, Meet the Grahams, and followed it up with Not Like Us within 24 hours.

Kendrick performed the popular diss track (Not Like Us) for the first time at his Pop Out Show in Los Angeles on June 19. It was a concert to celebrate the solidarity between West Coast rappers. Lamar reportedly played the track five times during his show with more applause each time.
