Snoop Dogg is considered one of the most multifaceted artists. The 52-year-old rapper often posts about his family and has collections dedicated to his grandchildren. Snoop Dogg has four children—Corde, Cordell, Julian, and Cori—and is married to his longtime partner, Shante Broadus.

Snoop Dogg is the grandfather of seven grandchildren. In an exclusive interview with People magazine, published on September 12, 2024, the rapper shared that fatherhood and becoming a grandfather were among the things in life he was most grateful for.

He further revealed to the magazine that he had dressed as major characters for his grandchildren's birthdays. He said:

“Papa Snoop, that's who I am, and I love being that. I be dressing up for their birthday parties, like He-Man, Baby Shark or whoever. I be complaining, but I love it." He added, "I love being a grandpa. It's an accomplishment."

Snoop Dogg loves being called Papa Snoop because it reminds him of his grandfather

Snoop Dogg became a grandfather in 2015 when his first son, Corde Broadus, welcomed his first child, Zion, with his then-girlfriend, Jessica Kyzer. Snoop’s grandchildren from his first son include Zion, Elleven Love, Kai Love (who sadly passed away ten days after birth), and Sky Love.

His other grandkids, from his second son, Cordell Broadus, are Cordoba Journey, Chateau, and a baby girl whose name hasn’t been disclosed to the media. Snoop is very active in his grandchildren’s lives, taking them along with him to events and modeling alongside them for children-based campaigns.

On July 27, 2024, Snoop posted a behind-the-scenes picture of himself and his granddaughter during his stint at the Paris 2024 Olympics. In the picture, he was seen tying his granddaughter’s shoelaces.

Speaking at the Jennifer Hudson Show in January 2024, the Drop It Like It’s Hot crooner shared how he became known as Papa Snoop:

“Zion was the first one to name me. He used to call me Papa Noop because he couldn't say Snoop, so he started calling me Papa Noop. Then as time went by, he learned how to say Snoop, so now I'm Papa Snoop."

Snoop Dogg, who also spoke with People magazine on June 15, 2023, said he loved the moniker because it reminded him of his grandfather. The Gin & Juice hitmaker said:

"That s--- means the world to me for them to call me that because I had a papa. My grandpa was my best friend and for me to be that for my grandkids is showing that I actually did well.”

He further described his grandkids as his everything, stating that each grandchild had a piece of his heart.

Snoop Dogg was announced as a coach for Season 26 of The Voice alongside Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, and Michael Buble. His venture into coaching comes shortly after his special correspondence duties at the recently concluded 2024 Paris Olympics.

He captured viewers' hearts worldwide with his wholesome interactions with the athletes and funny commentary on the events. Viewers can tune in to NBC on September 23, 2024, to see more of the West Coast Hip Hop legend on The Voice.
