As Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign hosted a Vultures 2 listening party in South Korea, the Carnival singer gave a shoutout to Joe Budden during one of the songs. The incident prompted a reaction from Budden, who hopped on to his Instagram Live on Friday, August 23, 2024, and responded to the shoutout.
During his Instagram Live, Joe started signing his own name and added:
"Korean n***as was like, 'What the fuck you talking about?'"
He added another line from Ye's song, "God's not finished," and concluded by saying:
"We here with peace and love."
Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign's listening party was held at South Korea's Goyand Stadium on August 23, 2024. During the listening party, West did not only call out Joe Budden but also shouted "F**k Adidas," as one of his songs, On My Soul, in the new album is also a diss track targeting the brand.
Elsewhere in the concert, he performed the tracks of Vultures 1 & 2, along with a number of his previous hits. As per NME, the show was attended by several K-Pop stars, including Minzy, CL, Minju, and Danielle.
"Mind your f*&king business. This is not about you": Joe Budden's previous statement on Kanye's version of Like That explored
While it is unknown why West named Joe Budden during the listening party, there has been speculation of a feud between the two as Joe initially criticized Kanye's remix of Lamar's Like That.
At the time, during one of his podcast episodes, aired in April, Joe Budden called out West and stated how Kendrick and Drake's beef is "none of his business." Joe Budden said in his podcast:
"Kanye, sit your f**king *ss down somewhere. Mind your f**king business. This is not about you. This is some attention-seeking s**t that you're doing. Kanye has been trying to insert himself in this since the beginning."
He continued:
"You had your shot. You didn't take it. That n**ga was gunning for you. Y'all all ran except for Pusha… It's not smooth when it's not your beef."
He concluded by saying he liked Ye's remix version of Like That. Budden said:
"I'll tell you one thing – what he did to that beat? Woo! Any time Kanye get around a choir, magic is coming."
On the other hand, Vultures 2 was released on August 3, 2024. The album has been composed by West and has been released in collaboration with Ty Dolla Sign. Other artists have also made guest appearances on the album in various songs, including Young Thug, Future, Playboi Carti, and Lil Wayne.
There are a total of 16 songs in the album, and in a few songs, Ye has dissed his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, Adidas, and Drake. While the statement by Joe Budden continues to be the highlight on social media, Ye has not yet responded to his comments.
