Chris Brown’s former manager, Tina Davis, alleged that parents used to drop off their daughters at the singer’s hotels in an interview. While speaking with NandoLeaks on November 11, the record executive shared details behind the R&B singer’s growth to stardom, the aftermath of his physically assaulting Rihanna, and more.
The interview comes amid Investigation Discovery's Chris Brown: A History of Violence documentary that explored the singer’s legal troubles.
Tina Davis is best known as the senior vice president of A&R of the EMPIRE record label. She is also the president of Phase Too Inc., a management company best known for producing new artists. She also spent over a decade at Def Jam. She is best known for launching Chris Brown’s career.
While speaking to NandoLeaks, Tina Davis said:
“Everyone loved him. Kids, parents were dropping off their kids at hotels like- ‘go get Chris Brown. Go get him.’ And I’m like- ‘if you don’t put your daughter back in your car. Stop.’ Like parents were sending their kids to the hotel because he was like the sweetheart to the whole world. He was a good kid. ‘I want you to marry this kid, go get him.’”
Tina Davis explained how Chris Brown was allegedly viewed by the public before he pleaded guilty to physically assaulting Rihanna.
The interview comes after Chris Brown was accused of s*xually assaulting in October
The aforementioned documentary revealed that it will star an unidentified Jane Doe, who alleged that she was s*xually assaulted by Chris Brown in 2020 on a yacht that belonged to disgraced rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently being held in prison on s*x crime charges.
Jane Doe alleged in October that she and other mutual acquaintances of hers and Brown’s were invited to a trip to Miami in December 2020. While on Combs’ boat, Brown allegedly handed her a drink that made her feel “heavy,” and she found herself being taken to one of the yacht’s bedrooms by Brown, where he proceeded to have nonconsensual s*x with her.
She told People magazine that Chris Brown never “disproved the occurrence of the s*xual assault” and that she did not realize until she went to therapy that she was s*xually assaulted. She told the magazine:
“I know it for a fact. Instead of telling myself that it wasn’t it was. It was r*pe.”
She is now being represented in court and has shared in the documentary that she hopes she “can shed light on what really happened.”
Back in July, Brown also faced physical assault allegations. A lawsuit claimed that Brown and his accomplices “brutally and severely beat” four men—Larry Parker, Joseph Lewis, Charles Bush, and Damarcus Powell at the Dickies Arena, Fort Worth, Texas concert despite being unprovoked.
S*xual assault allegations have been following Brown since May 2018. He was accused of co-conspiring, aiding, and abetting a 2017 s*xual assault that took place at a party in his house. Jane Doe alleged in her lawsuit that Brown and an associate used drugs, alcohol, and intimidation to:
“Coerce and force unwilling female guests to perform s*xual acts for Defendants and others.”
Brown has faced multiple accusations of assault throughout his career, with his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran also being granted a five-year restraining order against Brown back in 2017. This comes after she accused the singer of threatening her and physically assaulting her.
