In May 2024, Fauziya 'Ziya' Abashe filed a civil lawsuit against DJ Akademiks (aka Livingston Allen), claiming that he and his two accomplices (defined as John Doe 1 and John Doe 2) drugged and sexually assaulted her at DJ Akademiks' house.
Now, graphic photos of Abashe's wounds from the reported incident have gone viral on social media after alleged documents from the lawsuit were posted online. Some netizens have also posted alleged legal documents from the New Jersey Superior Court that state that Abashe was "unconscious and incoherent."
Furthermore, it alleged that she was dragged through concrete several times, which inflicted several wounds and bruises throughout her body.
“Ms. Abashe was unconscious or incoherent because it is unconscionable to believe that any person who is a willing participant in these acts can endure the pain of being dragged back and forth on the concrete, incurring scrapes and scratches on their back, buttocks, and elbows, especially while there is an empty lawn chair in arms reach, as well as several empty rooms in the home,” stated the alleged documents.
The alleged documents were substantiated by screenshots of messages between Abashe and DJ Akademics and graphic images showing the wounds Abashe allegedly suffered.
The alleged screenshots show Abashe claiming that she had blacked out during the incident and DJ AKademiks' friends said "creepy stuff" to her. She also mentioned passing in and out of consciousness when the entire incident happened.
What did Ziya Abashe's lawsuit accuse DJ Akademiks of?
According to the lawsuit filed by Ziya Abashe, John Doe 1 and John Doe 2 got her drugged and drunk while she was in a hot tub on July 16, 2022. After that, they proceeded to sexually assault Abashe in Akademiks' pool deck. The lawsuit also claimed that DJ Akademiks raped her afterward.
Ziya Abashe, a writer who lives in Pennsylvania, filed a complaint to the police and underwent a forensic examination for signs of assault. The cops used her words and evidence to procure a warrant and obtain the video footage and other evidence related to the incident.
According to Abashe, she didn't come out with the news in public for a long time. But she said she was forced to go public when DJ Akademiks took to social media and accused her of getting intimate with his friends while he refrained from participating.
"Mr. Allen and his two accomplices’ sexual assault severely injured Ms. Abashe, causing significant physical and psychological pain and suffering, loss of dignity, and invasion of her privacy. Mr. Allen's public statements added to the harm Ms. Abashe was already silently suffering with," said the lawsuit.
In May, Abashe's lawyer, Tyrone Blackburn, told USA Today that his client had no choice but to file a lawsuit after several attempts at an amicable private settlement fell through.
"Litigation is always the last resort. After several unsuccessful attempts to resolve this case privately, Ms Abashe was left with no choice but to file. Mr. Allen’s hubris will be his downfall," he said.
What had DJ Akademiks said about the lawsuit?
DJ Akademiks is a media celebrity with millions of followers across social media sites like X, YouTube, Twitch, etc. In a Rubble livestream in May, he opened up about the debacle despite the constant warnings of his attorney.
"I'm going to go against my very high-priced attorney's advice today, but I'm still not going to say much," he started.
He denied all the accusations and called himself an "innocent man."
"Whatever this is will be handled in court. Just know, according to the law and according to the police and according to all sanctioning governing authorities, Akademiks is an innocent man who has not ever been charged with anything of the sort that has to do with any deviancy or anything like that, has never been charged, will never be charged. That's a fact."
Akademiks concluded his comments by describing the situation as a "shakedown" and a "money tree situation."
