Katy Perry is one of the artists set to perform at US Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris' Pennsylvania rallies on November 4, 2024. According to an announcement by Harris' campaign team made on November 3, 2024, the rally will be held one day before the presidential election.

There will be two rallies in Pennsylvania held simultaneously between 5 pm and 10 pm EST in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, respectively. Kamala Harris is expected to appear at both events.

Kary Perry is reportedly scheduled to perform at the Pittsburgh rally. However, it is unclear what song the singer will be performing at the time of writing this article.

As news of Katy Perry's appearance at Harris' rally spread on social media, people took to X to suggest some songs. Several urged her not to perform Woman's World, the lead single from her newest album 143, with one person tweeting:

"This election is too close, please don’t perform woman’s world."

Netizens suggested other songs Katy Perry could perform, including Roar and Rise. They stated that these songs would send a "powerful message" in the right context.

"That would be an iconic choice for the inauguration! "Roar" or "Rise" would send such a powerful message, especially with the right context," one person tweeted.
"It better be I’m his he’s mine," another person added.
"If she is going to perform a song from her album, it needs to be… Wonder!" someone else commented.
"Roar or Firework only, Katy, do not f**k around!!!" another netizen wrote.

However, others were not seemingly enthused about Katy Perry performing at the Harris rally. They stated that the focus should have been on the election and that the rally shouldn't be turned into a show.

"She don’t need to perform at all," one person wrote.
"Let's keep the focus on the election and not turn it into a show!" another person added.
"Please don’t perform," someone else wrote.
"I’m gonna cancel my vote if Katy gets up there and performs Woman’s World," another user tweeted.

Katy Perry, Jazmine Sullivan, and Lady Gaga to perform at Kamala Harris' Pennsylvania rally

According to NME, Kamala Harris' Pennsylvania rallies are expected to be star-studded affairs. Artists like Katy Perry, Andra Day, and DJ Arie Cole are scheduled to perform at the Pittsburgh rally.

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga, Jazmine Sullivan, Ricky Martin and The Roots will perform at her Philadelphia rally. Oprah Winfrey and Fat Joe are also scheduled as guest speakers for the Philadelphia event. Gaga took to Instagram to announce the news, writing that it was "time to get ready to vote," before noting that she would see her fans in Pennslyvania.

“It’s time to get ready to vote–I’ll see you guys in Pennsylvania.”

Kamala Harris' campaign rally has been filled with celebrity appearances. Artists like Bruce Springsteen, Megan Thee Stallion, and GloRilla have performed at various rallies. Cardi B, Beyoncé, Eminem, and Jennifer Lopez were among the many who spoke at the rallies endorsing Harris.

Beyoncé's appearance at Harris' Houston rally drew over 30,000 people to the event on October 25, 2024. The singer, who licensed her song Freedom to the Harris campaign, said she was at the rally as a mother, not a celebrity.

"I'm not here as a celebrity, I'm not here as a politician. I'm here as a mother. A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we're not divided. Imagine our daughters growing up seeing what's possible with no ceilings, no limitations. We must vote, and we need you," she said.

In other news, Katy Perry released her seventh studio album 143 on September 20, 2024, following a four-year hiatus from her previous album. The 11-track album starts with the lead single Woman's World, whose music video saw Katy Perry outfitted in a Rosie the Riveter-style outfit.

The single was criticized for her partnership with Dr. Luke in light of his s*xual harassment allegations by fellow artist Kesha.
