“Prayers for this legend”- Fan concerns mount as Rapper Scarface posts an image of himself receiving medical treatment

American rapper and record producer Scarface disclosed the recent news of his hospitalization on Instagram on Saturday morning, August 24. He did not, however, elaborate on the reason behind it.

Stating the same, he shared a photo of himself in a hospital bed getting treatment along with the caption,

"Ouch… [prayer hands] Grateful.”

Following this, his admirers were alarmed by this mysterious message. Hence once the photo was shared on X, they immediately took to the platform to express their concern for the singer and pray for his recovery.

“Man… Prayers for this legend. Hope he’ll be okay”, wrote one concerned X user.

Other X users also wrote similar things.

Scarface had battled health conditions before

Rapper Scarface, a legendary rapper and producer who was a major member of the Geto Boys, recently uploaded a photo from a hospital, indicating that he is undergoing treatment for an unidentified health issue.

The image he posted on Instagram showed a nurse applying a bandage to a large scar. The nurse was wearing purple latex gloves. He had sensors all over his body and was wearing an oxygen tube. However, the Houston icon withheld any information regarding the whole thing from netizens.

However, the Houston Chronicle reported on August 24 that he seemed to be under the care of a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.

In the meantime, the post created anxiety in the hip-hop world. Well-known people, including DJ Premier, Mannie Fresh, E40, DJ Quik, Twista, Three 6 Mafia, Lord Finesse, De La Soul, and Krayzie Bone, wished for Scarface's speedy recovery.

However, this isn’t the first time he is struggling with health concerns. He experienced a potentially fatal episode of COVID-19 in 2020, which led to kidney failure. Along with this severe symptom, he also developed pneumonia in both lungs and lost his sense of taste and smell.

Due to the severe kidney damage caused by the infection, he needed dialysis several times a week for several months. Addressing the issue, he told Fox DC in April 2020,

“COVID attacked my lungs first, and then it attacked my kidneys and knocked them out. I got full lung recovery, but my kidneys never came back.”

He went on to say in the same interview that he was thankful to have survived his potentially fatal COVID-19 battle. He underlined how dangerous the infection was and urged people to take precautions. His story demonstrated the terrible effects that COVID-19 may have, even on completely healthy individuals.

A few months after the health problem, in October 2020, he posted a request on X for potential donation volunteers.

Then, according to an Instagram post from J. Prince of Rap-A-Lot Records, to whom Scarface's group the Geto Boys was signed, after about a year and a half of suffering from the consequences of COVID-19, Scarface's son, Christopher Jordan, donated one of his own kidneys to his father in 2021.

Christopher also sent out a statement regarding the outcome of the procedure. On Instagram, he posted,

"What a journey it’s been. Surgery went well my dad is thriving kidney is working great!!!! Thank you all for the prayers. @brothermob love you family.!!!"
