"Probably getting ready to record the next Oasis album" — Fans react to Noel spotted outside music studio ahead of reunion tour

Speculations about a new Oasis album ran amok on social media after people spotted Noel Gallagher outside a recording studio days after the British band announced their reunion tour. The Oasis Live ’25 tour will be the first time warring brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher share a stage in over 16 years.

Their last performance was at the V Festival in August 2009 just days before the band disbanded. This came after a fight between the brothers on the day of their Rock en Seine festival performance in Paris, during which Liam allegedly swung Noel's guitar at him "like an axe."

Noel quit the band, saying he couldn't work with his brother "a day longer." Since then, the two have occasionally exchanged heated words on social media.

In April 2024, Liam Gallagher hinted at a new Oasis album in response to a fan asking him when the band would get together to record new music. That same fan responded to the news of Noel Gallagher being spotted outside a recording studio, tweeting:

Fans were thrilled at the prospect of getting a new album from the band, wondering if they would get the opportunity to hear new songs on the reunion tour.

"New Oasis album?" one person said.

"What if they surprise us with a new song on the concerts," another person speculated.

"As Noel teased a few months ago when said he was shelving the acoustic album, maybe this was to finish work on the ‘defiant rock album’. Songs he wrote for Liam to sing. Songs he wrote to become Oasis’ comeback album… ‘21st Century Rock & Roll’ - including Dead In The Water," another person postulated.

However, others pointed out Noel could most likely be working on his own music, maybe a deluxe issue of an existing album or a new concept album.

"Imagine he is most likely working on a deluxe reissue of WTSMG for next year, rather than working on a new Oasis album. If they record, it will be for a release second half of next year for when tour in full swing (tour will be a "greatest hits" tour)," one person theorized.

"He working on his new concept album, provisionally titled "The Fourth Chord"," another person added.

Many also pointed out it was not unusual for a musician and singer/songwriter to be spotted at a recording studio.

"No way man !! A singer, songwriter, musician and producer goes into a studio ? Unbelievable…" one person commented.

"(man goes to work )," another person added.

"Well he’s a… musician," another netizen said.

Oasis's last album was released in 2008

If rumors of a new Oasis album turn out to be true, it would be the band's eighth studio album, following Dig Out Your Soul released in October 2008. The album was released less than a year before the alleged fight between the Gallagher brothers that led to Noel departing from the band.

The Manchester band blew up after their first studio album Definitely Maybe in 1994. The band will reportedly release a deluxe issue of their debut album for its 30th anniversary on August 30, 2024.

On August 27, 2024, the brothers revealed on social media that they would reunite for a stadium tour across the UK and Ireland in 2025. The 17-day tour, scheduled between July 4 and August 17, will see the band perform in venues like Heaton Park, Wembley Stadium and Croke Park.

It is unclear whether other former band members would join the reunion tour. According to NME August 26 reports, “no other original Oasis member is expected to join the reunion” and the members of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will step in.
