Rapper Yo Gotti’s late brother Anthony “Big Jook” Mims reportedly put out bounties on several members of Paper Route EMPIRE (PRE) record/ music label, a recent viral list has surfaced. Podcaster, internet personality, and live streamer DJ Akademiks even took to his Instagram and shared the alleged court documents claiming they were leaked by the prosecution.
According to the alleged list he shared, there were at least five PRE members on whom Big Jook put out hits including $100,000 for Adolph Thornton, aka Young Dolph; $50,000 for Markeyvius Cathey, aka Key Glock; $50,000 for Terrance Baker, aka PRE [Paper Route] Woo; $5,000 for Zequelius Da Venport, aka Moochie Grape; and $20,000 for Snoop Bands [Snupe Bandz].
In the wake of the now-viral alleged list of bounties placed by Big Jook circulating online, social media users are having diverse reactions. For instance, Instagram user @sammisosaa216 commented under Akademiks’ post by writing:
“Like I said, protect Key Glock at all costs.”
Several others joined the conversation and shared similar reactions, calling it "disgusting" and "sickening" among other things.
Others blamed Yo Gotti for allowing his brother to put random bounties on PRE rappers and warned him of the consequences.
Last month, as part of Young Dolph’s ongoing murder trial, prosecutors argued that Big Jook put out the hit on the rapper. However, it still remains to be proved in court. Young Dolph was murdered in 2021 and the suspects have all been identified and are currently being tried.
All you need to know about Yo Gotti’s deceased brother, Big Jook
Big Jook, whose real name was Anthony Mims was the elder brother of Memphis rapper and record executive Mario “Yo Gotti” Mims. Both of them were actively involved in Yo Gotti’s record company Collective Music Group (CMG), a partner of Interscope Records.
While Big Jook’s exact title at the company remains unknown, he was part of the talent hunt, management, and promotion for the firm. He also accompanied his brother at several music events, award shows, concerts, and video shoots among others. He called himself “Jook the Boss” on his Instagram (175,000 followers) bio and identified as an entrepreneur.
Earlier this year in January, Jook succumbed after being shot multiple times inside a car near Winchester Road, Memphis, alongside another male victim. While the latter survived, the former was pronounced dead at a local hospital. As per reports, Jook was in the area for a repass after attending the funeral of a relative. He was 47 years old at the time of his death.
So far, the Memphis Police Department has not charged anyone with the murder of Yo Gotti’s brother, nor has the Untrapped rapper commented on the incident.
For those unaware, CMG label has shared a long-drawn rivalry with fellow Memphis label PRE, and several members of both parties have been killed in the last few years.
