Britney Spears' recent Instagram videos raised some concerns among fans. The Princess of Pop turned 43 on Monday, December 2. She took to the social media platform on Tuesday to claim she would be 5 this year. It is unclear if Britney meant it as a joke as she also seemingly had her current age confused:

"It's my birthday. I'm not turning 42. I'm turning 5 this year."

The singer added:

"I have to go to kindergarten tomorrow."

Britney panned the camera in the following clip to show a “baby strawberry” cake that her friend got her. The video was reposted on X, where netizens expressed their concerns for the singer's mental well-being. Several people said Britney should have remained under her conservatorship for her own safety.

"Put her back on the Conservatorship", wrote one X user.

"Her father was right to have tried to protect her", resonated another.

Some believed the singer was still suffering from the impact of her conservatorship and familial troubles.

Britney Spears claims she moved to Mexico because of the paparazzi

At the beginning of the Instagram clip where Britney Spears addressed her birthday, she called out the paparazzi for getting the intel about her getting into a plane and capturing her in the moment. She said:

"I'm not really sure why the paparazzi have me going on a plane, looking like I'm wearing a Jason mask! Doesn't even look like me. I don't know why I have a torch in my hand, honestly. I think my friend accidentally gave that to me."

In a second video, Britney further claimed it hurt her feelings that the paparazzi made her face look like she was wearing a Friday the 13th-famed white Jason mask.

The Gimme More hitmaker accused the paparazzi of always being "incredibly cruel" to her. She continued:

"The way they’ve illustrated me, to be, some of it — I know I’m not perfect at all by any means, but some of it is extremely mean and cruel and that’s why I’ve moved to Mexico."

According to PEOPLE Magazine, Britney Spears was declared officially single on Monday, after her divorce from ex-husband Sam Asghari was settled in May. Sam filed for divorce in August 2023, a little over a year after their marriage in June 2022.

As per the publication, Britney Spears treated herself to a vacation to Mexico for her birthday. It is unclear if she permanently moved to the country as per her claim in the Instagram video.
