Florida cops arrested an intoxicated DaniLeigh last year for a DUI hit-and-run that left the victim with serious spinal injuries. On Friday, August 23, 2024, body-cam footage showing the singer crying as officers detained her began circulating online.
"I didn't hit nobody," Leigh can be heard telling the cops as they list the reasons for her arrest.
The reasons included DUI, hitting a child, and fleeing the scene of the accident. At one point, rapper Quavo comes to her aid, but after he is asked to vacate the area, he leaves.

As the video went viral, internet users were quick to react. One commented:
"Quavo walked up like was about to slove the case."
Internet users slammed DaniLeigh for her negligence and then misusing her status as a celebrity to get out of the arrest. Here are some comments seen under @theshaderoom's post on Instagram:

Per reports from May 2023, witnesses saw DaniLeigh swerving at hign speed around the traffic when she hit someone on a scooter. However, she did not stop and dragged the moped for about a block. Law enforcement officers managed to pull her over after she initially did not stop.
The viral footage shows cops informing the Easy crooner that she injured a child and another finding a bottle of Don Julio in her car. As Leigh continues to deny she hit anyone, cops tell her they have cameras, which prompts her to ask:
"Can I see the cameras because I didn't."
At one point, DaniLeigh stated:
"I'm a singer... I'm a R&B singer you cant arrest me."
A seemingly unimpressed cop points out that this was a serious situation, and she's laughing. The footage shows eye police talking to eyewitness reports and also noting the victim was a 17-year-old boy. After repeatedly trying to deny she hit someone and claiming she is a celebrity, one arresting officer tells her:
"Celebrity or not you're still not above the law."
Per a report by XXL Mag from 2023, when prompted to do a sobriety test, she blew 0.145 and 0.148 on the Breathalyzer. For reference, her number was nearly double the legal limit.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where he was diagnosed with a kidney laceration and a spinal fracture. Dani was taken into custody and booked with three felony charges: driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury, and DUI damage to property.
In February 2024, DaniLeigh received a five-year probation sentence after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor DUI charge and another felony charge of DUI causing serious injury.
Two additional charges of fleeing the scene of a crime and another DUI charge would be dismissed if she completed her probation without any violations.
DaniLeigh has not publicly reacted to the development.
