Woman's World is the first single from Katy Perry's untitled upcoming album
Woman's World will be the first single from Katy Perry's untitled seventh studio album and the first music she has released since her 2020 album Smile.
Any information regarding the album's name or release date is yet to be revealed; however, Perry added that the album's vibe would be "bright and joyful."
“I just have yet to make a record from a place of feeling really happy and whole and full of love. Sometimes artists are like, ‘Oh, that’s boring, you want to make music from kind of like a tougher place,’ but actually it’s very bright and joyful, like pure joy and fun and playful and celebratory and a party,” Katy Perry said in an interview with Access Hollywood on April 15.
Katy Perry first teased Woman's World on June 18 when she posted a snippet on Instagram of her lipsyncing to the song's lyrics:
"Sexy, confident / So intelligent / She is heaven-sent / So soft, so strong."
Perry turned heads at Paris Fashion Week in June when she wore a dress whose long train had the lyrics for Woman's World printed on it. On July 4, she released another promo pic for the song, dressed in a sparkly American flag-like top, striking a pose seemingly inspired by Rosie the Riveter's "We Can Do It!" poster.
According to Mirror, Katy Perry, a judge on American Idol since 2018, announced that this year would be her last as a judge on the reality show. She revealed her decision when she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in February 2024, adding that she wanted to quit the show to focus on her pop career.
On May 19, she made her last appearance at the show's finale, crowning this season's winner Abi Carter.
Woman's World will be released on July 11 on all streaming platforms. Katy Perry is also scheduled to perform at the Rock in Rio music festival in Brazil, held from September 13 to September 22, 2024.
