Recently, singer Al B Sure's son Quincy Brown opened up about his biological mother, Kim Porter, and his adoptive father, Diddy. This happened in the wake of the latter's arrest.
This came after Diddy and Porter's children opened up in response to the "conspiracy theories" surrounding Porter's 2018 death as well as the gossip around their parents' relationship.
According to Billboard's September 25 article, Christian Combs, Jessie and D'Lila Combs, and Quincy Brown, who is Kim and AI B's biological son and Diddy's adopted son, posted a statement on their Instagram accounts on Tuesday, September 24. They did it in an attempt to end the rumors about their mother's death and her relationship with Diddy, which started amidst the rapper's arrest.
However, once the statement and a video of Diddy, with his “adopted daughter” Eva Combs and Quincy went viral, Al B Sure shared it on his Instagram story, insinuated that Quincy might be suffering from Stockholm Syndrome, and wrote a caption “#FreeQuincy”.
Sure's story was later posted on The Shade Room's Instagram and people took to the post's comment section to defend Quincy and call out Al B Sure for being a “deadbeat father”. One netizen wrote:
"FYI: Quincy is a grown man."
Others also shared the same sentiment.
However, some defended Al B and called out Diddy and the video.
Quincy and Diddy's other kids came forward to clarify Kim Porter’s death
Al B Sure recently claimed that his son, Quincy, allegedly might be suffering from Stockholm Syndrome after he gave a statement in favor of Diddy and Porter, claiming that the viral speculations regarding his mother’s death are nothing but "false" and "hurtful."
As per Billboard, in the statement, Quincy and his siblings wrote,
“We have seen so many hurtful and false rumors circulating about our parents, Kim Porter and Sean Combs’ relationship, as well as about our mom’s tragic passing, that we feel the need to speak out.”
The 60-page Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice From the Other Side, an alleged memoir by Porter, was also slammed by the kids. In the statement, Combs and Porter's kids emphasized that it is not true that Porter wrote the book. She didn't, and anyone putting up a manuscript as their own is lying.
They also reminded everyone to realize that a person posing as a "friend" and advocating on behalf of their mother or her family is not actually a friend and does not have her best interests in mind.
The statement went on,
“Our lives were shattered when we lost our mother.... While it has been incredibly difficult to reconcile how she could be taken from us too soon, the cause of her death has long been established. There was no foul play...”
Together, the four children of Diddy prayed for everyone to honor their mother and cherish her legacy so that she may finally rest in peace. They then concluded,
“It’s what she deserves. We love you and miss you Mommy. Quincy, Christian, Jessie & D’Lila.”
This happened after Kim Porter's tragic death, which was later reported on Instagram by Porter's ex-husband Al B. On the same September 23's Instagram post, Sure urged the authorities to look into the death.
Sure also wrote,
“For over a decade and a half, I’ve been posting about, and tagging random law enforcement agencies in hopes to protect loved ones, avoid deaths & tragedies that could have all been avoided.”
Additionally, Al B and Quincy have always had a strained relationship. In 2009, in an emotional open letter, Quincy thanked Diddy for being in his life and publicly criticized Sure for not being there for him when he was growing up.
Now, once Al B Sure shared the video on his Instagram story, internet users took to the platform to react to the whole thing.
However, Quincy has yet to respond to AI B Sure's comments.
