In November 2023, former singer R Kelly filed a civil lawsuit against YouTuber Tasha K and a bunch of prison officers. According to Kelly, the aforementioned individuals had leaked his private information while he was in prison. The suit further accused the prison officers of sending the information from internal devices to Tasha, who would then mention them on her blogs.

In the lawsuit, Kelly further accused them of causing mental distress and damaging his reputation. Tasha K has, however, denied all the accusations made against her. Meanwhile, an ex-prison guard who was named in the lawsuit responded to the allegations made by R Kelly.

In Touch obtained court documents in which the former guard denied any such actions of passing on private information related to Kelly. The guard even claimed that the artist was “not in a place where” he should expect privacy. Her lawyer claimed that the lawsuit involving her name should be dismissed.

R Kelly had accused the guards of getting access to the internal prison system to access his emails along with call logs, which all the workers, including the former worker who responded, had denied. She further added that she had never behaved "outrageously" in connection with Kelly. She also claimed that she had never accessed the computer system of the prison without proper authorization.

R Kelly believed that Tasha K was talking poorly of him since she was fed sensitive information about him, from the prison

As mentioned, Kelly filed the civil lawsuit last year after he felt Tasha was talking poorly of him because of the information that the prison employees allegedly passed to her. HotNewHipHop had further reported that the government stated that they couldn't be held responsible for the actions of one employee.

The Source reported that despite the denial of taking accountability, the government admitted to its workers leaking Kelly's private information. As of now, no official charges have been filed against the prison officers or Tasha K, as reported by HotNewHipHop.

Kelly's attorney spoke about Tasha, as per In Touch, where they said,

"[Tasha K] rallied her massive following to harass [Kelly] with the use of the stolen information and created chaos in [Kelly’s] personal life, even using the information to influence witnesses in [Kelly’s] criminal prosecution."

The attorney continued,

"On information and belief, the stolen information was shared with and used by prosecutors from United States Attorney’s Office as a tool to influence witnesses against [Kelly]."

The suit further named The Defendant United States of America for not being very careful about R Kelly's welfare and allowing his private information to get out of the prison system. It further read that the information was possibly sold to Tasha K for "monetary gain, clout, or simple harassment."

Along with Tasha and the former prison guard who gave a statement, the government, too, had denied the allegations made by R Kelly. They added that one of the prison workers mentioned in the suit was previously subjected to investigation, however, no incriminating evidence came up.
