On Tuesday, October 29, rapper 6ix9ine was taken into custody in New York City on suspicion of violating his parole. He was arrested in 2019 on the allegations of racketeering and conspiracy to commit murder. He was then given a two-year prison sentence for other crimes he committed while he was a part of a violent gang.
However, he later testified against his group, Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, and entered a guilty plea. He was then freed from prison in 2020 and placed on parole. Now, he has been arrested for parole violation, but the specifics of the case are not known.
The rapper was recently arrested in January 2024 when he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Yailin la Más Viral. He was jailed in Santo Domingo on domestic violence charges. In August authorities in the Dominican Republic issued an international warrant against 6ix9ine after he attempted to leave the country.
This isn’t the first time Rapper 6ix9ine has been arrested

Judge Paul A. Engelmayer issued a warrant for the rapper's arrest on October 29. According to XXL, the rapper would be charged with allegedly breaking the terms of his parole release, which were established in connection to his plea deal in a 2019 racketeering case.
This isn’t the first time 6ix9ine has had a run-in with the law. The rapper has been having issues with the authorities since 2015. As per NPR’s February 2019 report, Hernandez entered a guilty plea to the accusations of utilizing a juvenile in a s*xual performance in October 2015. In this case, he was charged with three counts of the felony.
Then approximately three years later, Billboard reported on June 2, 2018, that rapper Chief Keef was shot outside the W Hotel in New York City, but he was unharmed. In February 2019, 6ix9ine pleaded guilty to ordering the rapper's shooting.
ABC13 confirmed in their November 2019 report that Hernandez allegedly choked a 16-year-old in January 2018 in Houston's The Galleria shopping mall. On July 12, 2018, he was arrested once more in New York for an unresolved warrant.
Furthermore, in November 2018, The Fader reported that the rapper, his former manager Kifano Jordan, and their three other associates were taken into custody for firearms and racketeering charges. The rapper was charged with federal RICO and gun offenses, including armed robbery and conspiracy to commit murder.
As per Complex, in 2021 Hernandez was sued by a Japanese tattoo artist from Brooklyn for allegedly making false and defamatory remarks about him.
In October 2023, the LA Times reported that Hernandez was suspected of assaulting two music producers and was taken into custody in the Dominican Republic.
The next year, AP News reported in January 2024, that the rapper was arrested on domestic assault allegations by Dominican authorities on January 17 and was detained in a Santo Domingo jail.
However, the same source stated that on January 25, 2024, he was released after paying a $510 deposit, agreeing to attend government therapy, and meeting with authorities every two months until the inquiry was over.
Meanwhile, neither 6ix9ine nor his representatives have said anything regarding the rapper’s recent alleged parole violation and arrest.
