Sabrina Carpenter's highly anticipated sixth studio album Short N' Sweet was distributed to all streaming platforms two weeks ago (Aug. 23) via Island Records and UMG Recordings Inc.

The LP dropped a few days after Travis Scott's 2014 mixtape Days Before Rodeo was re-released on all streaming platforms on August 18, 2024, via Cactus Jack Records under an exclusive license to Epic Records and Sony Music Entertainment.

Both artists seemingly went head to head in an exciting chart battle, gunning for the No.1 spot on Billboard 200, releasing deluxe digital downloads and bundles in an attempt to boost sales. DJ Akademiks also took to social media yesterday (Sept. 03) to post screenshots alleging that Travis had taken the top spot on the magazine's album chart.

With the chart data for this week finally revealed, Travis Scott's Days Before Rodeo came in second with Sabrina Carpenter's Short N' Sweet bagging the No.1 spot on Billboard's 200 chart.

Both projects were seemingly separated by only 600 units with Travis Scott achieving the biggest rap debut for 2024 after his 10-year-old mixtape officially sold slightly over 361,000 album equivalent units.

Fans have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts and opinions over the Billboard 200 "race," with Sabrina and Travis fans engaging in heated discussions over which artist deserved the No.1 spot on the magazine's album chart.

"Real music??? U mean auto tune rat yapping sounds" - One user responded.
"The music industry is so corrupt" - Stated another.
"That's a close call, interesting competition!" - A netizen stated.
"Was up by 11k yesterday btw" - Claimed a Travis fan referencing the allegations DJ Akademiks released yesterday.
"Those numbers were sourceless and disputed like immediately" - A user responded.

Travis Scott fans were also seen praising the re-release of Days Before Rodeo and appreciating the mixtapes' commercial performance 10 years after its original debut.

One fan even appeared to claim that Travis "gets robbed" in every category he's placed in referencing Utopia losing "Best Rap Album" to Killer Mike's Michael at the 66th Annual Grammy Award Ceremony.

"Poor Trav he gets robbed in every categories" - Said a fan.
"Travis fought a good fight. He should be proud. Most of his sales were physicals too, not streams" - Said another fan.
"She nearly got beat by a 10 year old project. Travis should take this as a W." - Said another.

Sabrina Carpenter fans were quick to dismiss a lot of the hate that she and Short N' Sweet were receiving online, with several users praising the release of her sixth studio album.

"Deserved tbh. She has a great album. Congrats to her" - Said a Sabrina Carpenter fan.
"I fw travis but glad sabrina got the #1. trav was trying too hard, stat padding for a 10 year old project." - Said another.

Nicki Minaj shouts out Sabrina Carpenter and fanbase on her Instagram Live

On the day of Short N' Sweet's release, Sabrina Carpenter took to X to share her appreciation for Nicki Minaj in a tweet that dedicated the success of her sixth studio album to the Queen rapper.

The tweet appears to reference Nicki Minaj's fourth studio album Queen, which was released in 2018, losing out on the No.1 spot on Billboard's 200 chart to Travis Scott's massively successful Astroworld.

The Bronx rapper did not take coming in second lightly by sharing her thoughts and opinions via statements made on her Apple Beats "Queen Radio Show," back in August 2018, when she stated:

"What we’re not gonna do is have that Auto-Tune man selling f--king sweaters telling you he sold half a million albums, because he f--king didn’t. You stupid f--k. You got your f--king homeboy talking for you and you got your girlfriend selling tour passes. Stop it. Knock it the f--k off."

Not long after Sabrina Carpenter's tweet, Nicki Minaj took to Instagram Live to interact with her audience during which she praised and shouted out Carpenter and her fanbase for their love and support.

"Shout out Sabrina Carpenter, shout out all the Sabrina Carpenter fans." - Nicki Minaj stated during her Instagram Live.

Sabrina Carpenter also currently has three singles charting in the Top 05 of this week's Billboard's Hot 100. The singer's Taste, Please Please Please, and Espresso are currently sitting at No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4, on the magazine's single charts, respectively.
