On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, Quando Rondo was sentenced to 33 months behind bars for conspiracy to possess and distribute marijuana. A week after the sentencing, Rondo decided to open up about it. On December 18, he shared a detailed message on Instagram addressing his fans.

In the message, Rondo hinted at retirement once he gets out of prison after serving his sentence. The detailed note further read:

"I just caught 33 months, the whole world know it and mf still got they hand out don't worry bout it tho. If promised anybody something there there going to get it my word is my word!"

The Georgia rapper continued:

"But on everything I love once I do this lul time I promise you im disappearing and never talking to people again!"

While Rondo suggested opting for retirement, he didn't elaborate on his plans after that in the Instagram story. Several netizens too reacted to the story that the rapper shared.

Quando Rondo, aka Tyquian Bowman, originally faced up to five years in jail, as reported by USA Today. In August, however, he entered a plea deal with the US Department of Justice. As a part of the deal, he pleaded guilty to the marijuana charge. Other drug-related charges against him were supposed to be dropped.


Quando Rondo has previously talked about his new outlook towards life after converting to Islam

While discussing Quando Rondo's latest messages about his retirement, he seems to desire a more peaceful life, as reported by HotNewHipHop. In November 2024, he spoke to the outlet about his conversion to Islam and how the religion changed his perspective towards life.

The rapper said:

"It just gave me good peace and energy. Taking my shot and being a part of Islam, it just gave me better energy. It gave me some of the best energy I ever had."

He further mentioned that Islam gave him "the best energy." In the same November interview, he also revealed that Islam didn't change the way he was creating music.

In September 2024, he even suggested ending the feud with Lil Durk. As reported by HotNewHipHop, Quando Rondo said:

"We have families and communities counting on us. It's time to leave all that behind. We've lost too much already."

This was in connection to his feud with rapper Lil Durk, who is also entangled in his own set of legal troubles currently.


Rondo recently accused local cops of stealing his jewelry

The Georgia rapper has been making headlines recently for his trial, which just ended with him getting a sentence of 33 months in prison. Meanwhile, on December 17, he made accusations against the local police, claiming that they tried to steal his jewelry and damage them, as per reports by The Express Tribune.

Quando Rondo further claimed that the cops had attempted to take his watch as well. He even shared Instagram stories where he wrote that the police "hated him so much."


Amid his legal struggles, Rondo has become a regular name in the hip-hop industry.
