Rihanna added more feathers to her metaphorical cap with her appointment as the face of the Dior J’adore fragrance in June 2024. The French brand announced the collaboration on their Instagram page with the caption:
“Christian Dior is truly delighted to welcome icon Rihanna, whose wide-ranging talents, remarkable beauty and universal appeal now embody the world of J’adore.”
For her latest campaign, the singer embodies the J’adore perfume’s signature gold color as she exudes a golden visual in a photo taken by the celebrity photographer Steven Klein.
Her golden brown hair is accented by brows in warm brown, subtle golden eye shadow and brownish lip color. To round up the visuals, she wears a golden layered pearl necklace, reminiscent of the J’adore bottle.

The campaign visuals were shot by Steven Klein, a celebrity photographer and longtime friend of Rihanna's in the Versailles hallways. The latest edition of the fragrance, dubbed L’Or de J’adore, features notes of jasmine, rose violet, and ylang-ylang, amongst others. The campaign will see the release of new sizes of the J’adore in 35 ml and 80 ml.
The singer expressed her enthusiasm for the perfume campaign:
"The House of Dior has always represented the highest level of elegance, craftsmanship, and the regality of a woman. It’s always an honor to be a part of the brand’s history, and to now represent J’adore is an even greater responsibility because of how important this fragrance is to Dior.”
The collaboration comes almost ten years after the nine-time Grammy Award winner became the first black celebrity signed with Dior. In 2015, the Diamonds singer was announced as the face of the Secret Garden IV campaign under the creative directorship of Raf Simons.
Rihanna was announced as the face of Dior J’adore, succeeding Charlize Theron, who had been the face of the fragrance since 2004. Meanwhile, Theron was recently appointed ambassador for Dior's jewelry and skincare line.
The French luxury brand built anticipation by announcing on its Instagram page on June 18, 2024, that the J’adore perfume had a new queen. Fans immediately speculated that Rihanna might be the new face of the best-selling perfume line, as she was spotted at Dior’s ready-to-wear show for Fall 2022 and more recently, at the Haute Couture show for Spring 2024.
They weren’t proved wrong when the brand unveiled the celebrated singer on the same day. The singer confirmed the collaboration on her X account with the caption, “the secret is out."
In a statement, Veronique Courtois, CEO of Parfums Christian Dior, said that the singer was the most obvious choice for face of J'adore because of her influence and talent:
"The choice of Rihanna to be the next face of J’Adore was obvious for us. Not only is she one of the greatest and most powerful artists of all times, she is also multitalented, a successful entrepreneur, a committed humanitarian, a mother of two and a singular beauty.”
The print campaign reportedly launches on August 19, 2024, while the campaign video will be released on September 1, 2024. Fans can expect to see more visuals of Rihanna soon.
