In a message shared on social media on Tuesday, he disclosed that the infection left him with "only limited vision in one eye". He added that his recovery is expected to be a slow process. Despite the severity of the situation, John expressed optimism about his health and said:

"Over the summer, I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye. I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye."

John appreciated his family and the efforts of the doctors and nurses in taking care of him. He wrote:

"I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks."

British singer-songwriter concluded on a hopeful note and shared:

"I have been quietly spending the summer recuperating at home, and am feeling positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery thus far. "

The 77-year-old artist did not specify any details about his eye infection. However, his eye infection comes soon after his knee replacement surgery. Back in January, his husband, David Furnish, told The Sun and the Your Song hitmaker was doing well after the knee replacement surgery and had a second knee operation scheduled later that month.
