Last week on Friday, August 9, Kehlani filed a temporary restraining order against her former boyfriend and baby daddy Javaughn Young-White at the Los Angeles County Superior Court amid their ongoing custody battle for daughter Adeya. The singer-songwriter accused Young-White of abuse, lack of cooperation in co-parenting, and potential child abduction.
In the wake of this, Javaughn took to his Instagram Stories to share multiple alleged text exchanges between him and Kehlani, calling her a liar and questioning her “audacity” to make false claims about him in public.
“I cut off contact with her last month because of her abuse and how she alleged abuse when she is scared,” an accompanying text read on one of the IG Stories.
Javaughn also mentioned an alleged instance where Kehlani “busted through her own door” but later framed him for the same. Young-White added that he had “more” of such “paper trail” to refute his baby mama’s accusations against him, calling her “sad” for “resorting to lying.”
Exploring the alleged text exchange between Kehlani and her baby daddy
On Tuesday, August 13, Kehlani’s ex-boyfriend Javaughn Young-White, who is also the father of her daughter Adeya, leaked their alleged text exchange dating back to June and July of this year.
In the first one, Kehlani reportedly messaged Javaughn to call her as soon as possible, calling it an “emergency” and adding that whenever she tried to call him, it was going straight to voicemail.
In an alleged response, Young-White wrote:
“I begged you to leave me alone. I begged you that I didn’t want to speak. I ran from your room into the backhouse. You followed me and barged through the door. I asked you repeatedly that I did not want to talk to you. You said, ‘You have to speak to your co-parent.’ I ran into the bathroom. I said, ‘No, I don’t. Please stop.’”
The guitarist further wrote that he knew what Kehlani was “about to do” and kept “packing” to escape the situation. However, he claimed that she kept chasing him and wanted them to be “homeless in the morning.”
In an alleged follow-up DM, Javaughn Young-White doubled down on how he was unwilling to speak to Kehlani “privately ever again” and informed her how he would “set up communication” with their daughter “separately,” including getting in touch with her school and asking them for updates via email, and execute his “fatherly rights.”
“That’s a liability to my safety because of your lying ability. We know what you lied about. Down to your little burner accounts. Don’t care to rehash. That’s a you thing. And everything you claim I lie about, I have 100 % physical proof of,” he seemingly added in the July text.
Kehlani’s baby daddy claimed that he would no longer deal with her as he was well aware of the “real pattern of different forms of abuse” which he at first faced as a 20-year-old “homeless” man and later at her hands. He added that the PopLyfe member “confidently and conveniently” kept forgetting that.
Javaughn also shared the messages he reportedly exchanged with the singer’s alleged ex-girlfriend Kiara. He claimed to have spoken to her and dug up the truth, adding that he wouldn’t be “silenced” like that girl.
“When she cheated on her last girlfriend Kiara, she alleged the person she was cheating with r*ped her. Kiara later found out that wasn’t true. She alleged r*pe and abuse when she has nothing else to cling to,” Young-White claimed in his caption.
As for the contents of his alleged texts with Kiara, it showed the latter claiming that Kehlani “hurt way too many good people” and needed to be held accountable for her actions. Javaughn responded by agreeing with Kiara and asking her to “stand your ground” if/ when the Grammy nominee or people around her tried to “manipulate” or “provoke” her.
Young-White wrapped up by writing how he would address everything else later but for now, wanted to put the “false accusations of abuse to rest.” He also stated that it wasn’t “normal to scream abuse” when people didn’t know what else to do.
Notably, earlier this month, Javaughn Young-White filed a petition demanding full physical and legal custody of the 5-year-old Adeya accusing the Cloud 19 hitmaker of being involved in a "cult" and endangering their daughter's safety.
In the wake of this Kehlani filed a temporary restraining order against him on Tuesday which prevents her baby daddy from contacting her or their daughter for a court-granted duration, including communication via phone calls/ emails. He has also been asked to stay at least 100 yards away from them at all times.
Amid this new development, Young-White also shared the most recent text exchange where he asked Kehlani to “retract” the abuse allegations against her. He claimed that she was trying to gain “public favor” by trying to paint her in the wrong manner, doubling down that she should “quit lying.”
