Singer Charli XCX has announced a new version of her chartbuster summer album, Brat. The remix version of the album is set to release on October 11, 2024. On September 11, Charli XCX took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce the same. She wrote:

"Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat - Out oct 11."

The new version will contain 16 songs, out of which five tracks will be previously-release remix versions of songs from the original album. These collaboration remixes are 360 ft. Robyn and Yung Lean, Von Dutch ft. Addison Rae, Girl, So Confusing ft. Lorde, Guess ft. Billie Eilish and Talk Talk ft. Troye Sivan. The other eleven tracks aren't revealed yet.

Fans took X to react to Charli's latest announcement, with some criticizing her move to introduce a remix album. Meanwhile, others were excited about the upcoming album. One X user wrote:

"She is so chart obsessed."
"Omg can she just let it go," another person said.
"just release a new album atp...," one netizen said
"This is the greed they talk about in the Bible," another person commented.

Meanwhile, other fans were excited by Charli XCX's new announcement and looked forward to a 'Brat' autumn.

"BRAT AUTUMN IS COMING OMFG," 0ne fan said.
"it’s gonna be a brat spooky szn," another fan said.
"Oh she is eating this era," another fan wrote.
"BillieNators will be streaming," another X user commented.

The original album dropped on June 7 this year, instantly going viral on social media. Brat's lime-green aesthetic became a part of pop culture trends, especially after Democratic nominee Kamala Harris adopted the aesthetic as part of the 2024 Presidential election campaign.

Brat opened at number 2 in the UK Albums chart. It was also nominated for the 2024 Mercury Prize for Album of the Year with largely positive reviews from critics and fans alike.

"Very honest, very blunt" - When Charli XCX explained the meaning of 'Brat' and its lime-green aesthetic

In a June 2024 episode of the Sidetracked podcast on BBC, Charli XCX explained the significance of the concept of "Brat" and its unique lime-green album art.

The singer said that the word embodies someone who is rebellious and non-conforming. The picture that comes to mind is one with "a pack of cigs, a Bic lighter, and a strappy white top with no bra", per the pop star.

The Brat concept is presumably designed to be an antithesis to the popular clean girl aesthetic that promotes adherence to conventional standards of femininity. Speaking further about the concept, Charli said in a TikTok video in June:

"You're just like that girl who is a little messy and likes to party and maybe says some dumb things some times who feels like herself but maybe also has a breakdown. But kind of like parties through it, is very honest, very blunt. A little bit volatile. Like, does dumb things. That's brat."

Soon after the release of the album, the cover artwork, designed by NYC-based studio Special Offers, went viral on social owing to its bright lime-green aesthetic. Memes with the same font and background were popularized on social media sites, while the hashtag #bratsummer trended in June.

The concept of 'Brat' became further significant when Charli XCX took to social media to voice her support for Democratic nominee Kamala Harris in July. Taking to X, the singer wrote:

"kamala IS brat"

Shortly after Charli XCX publicly supported the Vice President, the official Biden-Harris account on X changed its aesthetic to that of the Brat album. The account uploaded a lime-green header with "Kamala HQ" written on it on X, as a reference to the Brat album cover. The account has since then changed its aesthetic and header.
